    week 1

I've decided to follow Softy's lead and provide a weekly progress report. Figure that will help keep me on tract. Today is the end of week 1 AF. Short term goal is week 2, medium goal is 33 days, and longterm goal is 100 days. Am walking every day, trying to eat healthy, but the cravings do hit around 6pm. Appreciate the support from MYO community.

    Free at last,

Good for you! Sounds like you are doing all the right things - eating right, exercising. Try to find something to occupy your time during your normal drinking hours. For me, it was as soon as I got home from work and then by about 8:00, I found that it had passed. Keeping busy was the key for me. L-Glutamine seemed to help, finding non-al drinks that I really enjoyed, and most definitely, number one was getting all (and I mean all) of the AL out of the house.

Best of luck to you and glad to see you starting your own thread!

What Jolie said. Exactly. That's what I did too until I finally reached a point of no more witching hour, which does happen eventually!!!

Congratulations on your progess. Sounds like you have some very sound goals as well.

Yes, I'm at a similar place (again). Having achieved 30 days before I know it can be done and I want that feeling again. But the cravings, if I have them, hit me around 5. I sometimes start dinner cooking and then take the dog for a walk, do the dishes or anything to keep busy. I find the longer you are AF, the less strong are the cravings and the more your own decision comes into play, i.e. you know that you can resist a drink and talk yourself out of it, but you may choose to sabotage your plan and have one.
Let's not sabotage it this time. I want to make it to 100 days this time too, so no more pathetic excuses.
