Just wanted to chime in that you are all an inspiration! I am back to day 1 but feeling positive about it and plan to stick to my guns! I have lots to look forward to this summer and just the fact that the weather is nice and I can get out to walk everyday and not be freezing cold is a blessing to me. I am lucky to have a hyper dog that will jump at the chance to walk all day with me if I wanted to. I aim for half hour walk in the morning and another half hour in the evening, plus the 2 fifteen minute walks I do to and from work. I also do sit ups and arm and leg exercises most days. I know that once the AL leaves my system in a few days (I guess it takes about 3?) the bloat left over from excessive wine consumption will go with it. I find it bloats my face and belly terribly. It's like, what's the point of sit ups if you're just going to drink it all back? Enjoy all of your outdoor runs and bikes! Keep up the good work!

Good Morning Blonde AF Ambition love the name. Day 8 for me and yes my bloating is going down. I woke up with a flat tummy which I have not had in a long long time. And I am only a tiny person. Keep me posted and let me know how you are getting on x it is so worth it!!

Yes, it is nice to wake up and not be afraid of the scale! On AL, my weight would fluctuate by about 5 pounds. When not on AL, I don't have to hold my breathe when getting on the scale. That is another addiction for me...weighing myself every morning. I know, I know...I should only do it once a week or so but it just is part of my routine and I think it would drive me crazy not to know where I'm at in the weight game! Anyway, the good thing about not drinking is not having the tendancy to over eat at night, which for me, went hand in hand.Whatever you invest in the circle of LIFE is what comes back to you. Multiplied. What you give to people is what they eventually give back to you. Don't do the math. Just increase your LOVE.

I'm in Heaven, Day Seven!!!
I have been
contemplating quitting again for a solid month with no inspiration. My life with this alcohol is worthless and I find nothing enjoyable. Just looking for some form of well being and am happy with little things in life. Exercise is one of them and this thread has lead me to commit to make today my first AF w/ a full blown plan that I will write out over the next couple of days. Thanks for the inspiring posts!!!

I also am looking forward to feeling good but know that I must go through that adjustment period that is usually 4 days to feel slightly better then after 2 weeks of taking supps. and sleeping better I can begin to exercise in earnest which is so important for me. Supplements, sleeping better, watching sugar intake and exercise will all increase my willpower over alcohol. I'll be watching for you out on the road. :thanks: for the inspiration for my 1st AF day in well over a month. Looking forward to the rewards but realize it's a journey with many obstacles along the way. That's where forming my plan will come in. I already feel a sense of accomplishment and it's not even 24 hours yet but today being almost over is toast. 6-6-11= day 1.
