888, its great you found this website and are trying to quit, but you really have to fight and have a plan when the urges hit. And there will be urges. If you don't decide to quit no matter what and keep slipping it will be harder and harder to stay focused on quitting. What made you decide to quit originally? You said earlier that you want to do this because you didn't want to kill yourself with the alcohol. Don't let the alcohol fool you. It will entice you back with good times but if you truly have a problem with alcohol, it will lead you back down a destructive path. For me, I had to look at it like an abusive boyfriend. It pretends to be sorry for all the problems it caused you and when you let your guard down it goes right back to the abuse.

Only you can decide if you want to quit. If you do you have to fight that devil with everything you've got. We are here to help and support you but you ultimately have to wage that war.

You can do it! Believe me I drink every night til I passed out for 10 years. I am now coming up on 90 days. I gets easier everyday now but I still have to be on guard when the urges come.

I had wanted to AF for the month of June and then mod. Wednesday - the 7th day - I just hit the bar with a vengence. Drank more than usual and got home at 4AM. Damn stupid. I did not beat myself up too bad - figured, sh*t happens. Start over... no big deal and actually felt pretty good about being AF for a week. Last afternoon, had a business meeting that just popped up - two beers at the meeting, which is what everyone else had. Meeting went exceptionally well. On to the bar to celebrate! .... at my suggestion. No more games - this is it. One day at a time. I am determined to do this today.

888 you can do this. Is it possible for you to avoid the Friday meetings? From your previous posts Friday afternoon seems to be a tempting time for you. When I quit drinking the weekends were very hard at first. I made plans to do other things and each day I woke up sober it reinforced my resolve to do this. Waking up sober is 1000 better than anything I thought alcohol was doing for me. Everyday you add it gets easier. You get stronger but you have to keep vigilante because the thoughts sneak up on you. You can fight the urges when they come and really enjoy being sober.

Stay strong and here's to an alcohol free Saturday!

You can do it 888! Perhaps this is a sign that modding isn't for you if you keep failing to make it 30 days but you can do it! Just change things around and stay AF! If you have to, bring NA beer to the meetings. Have you told your coworkers that you are quitting drinking? If not, then tell them. My biggest mistake in the past was to not tell anyone (I was going to wait till the right time) and the end results was not good. Now that I told people that I quit, it is easier to refrain from drinking. Hang in there, things will get better.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.
