I am a brand new newbie who just joined yesterday. I lurked for over two months and this site has been inspirational. I have learned a lot about what I am struggling with. I have also been working with an addictions psychiatrist and have made a small amount of progress using Gabbapentin.

The past holiday weekend was a tough one from drinking stand point, I was up to 15 drinks a day each day. On Tuesday I decided enough and ordered Baclofen online. I also set a goal of seven drinks/day or less for the rest of the week and so far making that goal. Maybe next week I can get to five.

Does anyone know a psychiatrist in the Chicago area who prescribes baclofen?

Hi & welcome DSH51 to mwo, not everybody hear takes meds, A lot of us have used different approaches but whatever suits yourself is the best way forward,You would be better of posting in the meds section forum and the people who know more about baclofen will be glad to help, goodluck in what ever way you find out.

Welcome. I'm finishing day 2, from the burbs of chicago as well. If you go into the section on meds here and go back (several months I think) There is talk of a specific Dr who does prescribe and he is in Chicago. He actually even has a website I think. I'll see if I can find it.
