day one again
Back on the site, two years in. Went 10 weeks in 2010, felt great and buckled, went 10 weeks in 2011, felt great and buckled. Unlike the last time I dove off the wagon, this year I'm getting back on now and not waiting till Christmas when I usually decide it's time for a change. It seems I have the drive to a point then all I think about is drinking. Wish I could just get past the 10 week mark since the motivation and drive just weakens like a wilting flower. Any thoughts out there on keeping this motivation which is VITAL for me? I'm a functional AL and I'm tired of the AL part and just want to be functional in a normal sense.

day one again
Hi Allswell, we have something in common and today is back to day 1 again for me too. I also went for about 10 weeks earlier this year completely AF and then went on vacation to the Caribbean where AL flowed pretty freely around me and so I caved. And I didn't leave my binge on vacation...I brought it back and it stayed with me through April and May. Now my goal is to make it through June AF. I like what Sheri says about not thinking about failure because it is not an option. I'm going to embrace that way of thinking and stay sober this time for good...no matter what.Whatever you invest in the circle of LIFE is what comes back to you. Multiplied. What you give to people is what they eventually give back to you. Don't do the math. Just increase your LOVE.
BE HAPPY...BE CONNECTED...BE HEALTHY! :h

day one again
Sheri, I have read so many of your posts over the past 18 months and they are nothing short of completely inspiring. Thank you. Blonde AF, I remember reading about your trip to the all inclusive knowing there is no way I could do it after being to a couple of Sandals places in Jamaica and the Bahamas with all of the liquor and party etc. I think we both started around the same time. We can do this again! Thank you.2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.
