But I am so cranky!! I keep getting headaches! I think what is suppouse to happen in the first week of being sober has hit me in the 3rd week. Typical of me I always do everything back to front.

      Day 18 I'm still keen!

Hi Mia, have just got through the toughest weekend yet to reach 28 days today. I have been just like you; the third week thinking about drinking a lot. Then, feeling great and on top of it all and so suddenly this weekend felt so down and sooo close to having that drink. It took me totally by surprise how strong the feelings were; left me afraid for my sobriety........if the wrong person had appeared with company and alcohol I don't think I would have had the fight in me to say 'no'. Thankfully I sat it out - wasn't good company for those around me but at least I'm still here and still sober! There is definitely a lesson to be learned here; not sure yet how to deal with it.
I have been trying hard, exercising regularly and busy - I just need to do more. Back to reading whatever books I can to strengthen that armour for the next time the beast comes to call!
IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN
Relapse starts long before the drink is drunk!!.Fresh Start!

Hi Mia, great work. Sorry about your headaches, hopefully they will pass soon. Stay hydrated - this can help sometimes to fight headaches. Keep up the great work,

Hey Mia, I wish I could take those headaches away from you. It sure makes us realize that the detox process is pretty serious sh..t. I expected that by not drinking I would feel like a new woman but it didn't exactly happen that way. Everyone had said that your liver is just below your left breast and that is where you would feel pain if your liver was in trouble. Never felt that pain in the ten years I drank to excess. Guess when I felt it? In the first few days after I stopped. So, it's not all positive physical improvements; I guess we have to have patience with our bodies as they adjust. Better to be crabby and sober than cheerful and drunk. Eventually you'll get there. We all will. Still with you all the way you Hot Pink Lady.
