Hi I am new here. I have had a long struggle. Does anyone know how long you need to abstain from alcohol for your liver levels to return to normal?

Crikey that's a million dollar question you've got there. It honestly all depends on how long and how much you've been drinking. Have you had blood tests with your doctor?
Saying that the liver is a very forgiving organ and with total abstinence from alcohol for between 6 to 10 weeks can normally be brought back to just about normal, but as I'm not a medico it really would be best to check it out with your doc.

2 weeks and I would take a milk thistle supplement every day to help repair your liver. No drinking or pain relievers. Good luck! PS, this is from past experience when I had to be retested due to elevated liver function.Whatever you invest in the circle of LIFE is what comes back to you. Multiplied. What you give to people is what they eventually give back to you. Don't do the math. Just increase your LOVE.

Great question and I will be keen to see the responses. My GGT levels are way high (200). More bloods this week to see how much progress I've made. (also had hep A when I was a kid so this also impacts.......I think?)Comment
