    Question about AL and sleep

I have a question that would help me a lot. I have read so many posts about those who used AL to sleep at night. With me I knew I wouldn't sleep because my mind would spin out of control with thoughts after a couple drinks, and it would end up with me drinking SO much just to get those thoughts to disapear again.

I don't remember getting that numbing affect from AL that so many talk about, It never calmed my mind but made it 10x more active. I was just wondering if that is also a common thing that others went thru while using AL?

What's helped me in the past that I needed to be reminded of, is when I would get the urge to drink, I'd take 1-2 minutes fast forwarding to me opening the last bottle and how hard it is to shut off my mind, what I felt when that bottle was gone, tossing and turning until I slept, and the horrid panic attacks the next day. That worked countless times.

Taking a different approach since I decided my life is more important then a bottle full of liquid lies.

    Question about AL and sleep

Sorry Turnaround - definately didn't happen to me - I just end up dribbling like a pensioner on the couch - gorgeous. I've never known it happen to anyone I knew either - maybe it's some kind of chemical reaction/alergy??Or reaction to all the sugar that's in Wine?? Strange. Good luck with it all - I like the fast forward angle - very usefull - I certainly don't like the end of the night me, ugh x

      Question about AL and sleep

a long time ago a couple of drinks would help me sleep. like you though in later times a couple of drinks would get my mind going like a flipping express train, nothing would calm/slow it down....... and so i would then drink till i passed out. i slowly learnt how to retrain my mind to sleep without al and now (when i dont drink) i sleep like a very sleepy baby, love it
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine

          Question about AL and sleep

TA, Alcohol does just the opposite for me - interrupts my sleep. When I don't drink, I sleep - period. I think if you're used to using it to sleep and stop the drinking, your sleep will correct itself and then be of a much better quality.
