    Starting Again

Hi Everyone - just wanted to introduce myself and say that I am going to start logging in my AF days along with the rest of you guys. I've been reading posts for a long time but am just now feeling ready to commit to being AF.

I just can't handle alcohol anymore - so I hope to log in an endless stream of AF days along with you guys.

      Starting Again

It's my day one (again) also. Had a few dry days in June but fell off last week. This cycle is just ridiculous. Today I feel different.....almost a peacefulness with my decision. Maybe this is the one. But usually don't start drinking til the evening so hopefuly feel the same tonight. Up to a bottle of Vodka a day. Stomach in pain all the time. Spitting blood? I have to make this work. Let's count the days together. Any other day 1s out there join us.

Feel free to join the daily AF thread all of you. There are people at all stages of AF there - everything from a few days to a week (me!), to several months and a couple of years. It's a great place to check in each day at this early stage.

        Good luck

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll post my progress as I get a little further along - my last drink was July 2.

Will also join the AF daily thread.

Damo, I really know that life is better without alcohol - I sense it during the times I stop drinking. I'm always lulled back into thinking it will be ok when I'm in some kind of social setting. If I can just have a few outings with other people where I enjoy myself without alcohol, that will be a huge hurdle for me. I don't seem to feel I can socialize without the liquid social lubricant! That's my downfall.

              Anyway, thanks for the encouragement!
