Question for a new thread/folder on withdrawal

Is there a place for us to post about our experiences of withdrawal symptoms? I know that on the Sober Recovery Forums they have this thread and it really helps people who want to quit but are afraid of withdrawal. I realise that med attention and supervision is recommended for heavy drinkers but some of us were not too far gone so our experiences were mild and we could do it without pills or in a rehab unit.

    Is it worth a thread?

Question for a new thread/folder on withdrawal

    Hi Life,
I don't know, have you searched the site? The search engine is crap, so I didn't bother. You could always start a new thread, I'm sure many people would benefit. For the record, I can stop drinking half a liter of hard liquor a day - after drinking for two months - and just be tired, headachy, sleepy. But I'm taking low dose baclofen so that probably helps me not have DT's or anxiety, that latter being the reason I'm taking the baclofen.

Question for a new thread/folder on withdrawal

It's been discussed on lots of threads but there may not be one devoted to it.
      You could start one.
Many of us experience very few symptoms of withdrawl and don't use meds. I don't think the meds are necessarily to counteract the withdrawl symptoms, although some aim to counteract anxiety, but they do seem to help reduce the desire for alcohol in some people.

Question for a new thread/folder on withdrawal

Good idea. I found most of my info/statistics by googling, but there was no dialog from people who are actually going through it or have in the past. I would love to here what others have experienced.
