Thanks Enough! for listening...err..reading...lol!!! I appreciate your words of encouragement!!! Today is much better...I'm going to take a crack at finishing painting my sunroom...this is now the THIRD color I will be trying out!!!

I did and it was yummy! I am making up for all the desserts I missed as they never went with the wine I was drinking.

Day 12 done and sober! Went to my brother's 50th birthday party and watched everyone get drunk and loud while I sipped my water. Then drove my slightly inebriated husband home. I felt good and didn't crave it at all.

Well done everyone!!! I also went to a big party today with a keg and most were drinking. I had my mind made up before I went. No drinking for me. 3 weeks under my belt. It helps me tremendously just to come here and post this. There is strength in unity! Looking forward to many more AF days. I just plain feel great taming the beast.

Can I join? I am a mommy to, of one 4 yr old girl. I'm a single parent. I'm on day 6 right now-although I have to admit I am sort of "cheating" in a way as I put myself on antabuse to get myself started. I just need to get some sober time under my belt so I can work on why I am drinking and willpower alone was not doing it for me.
So I'm taking a very low dose and just took a half of a half pill tonight as it also puts me to sleep, so I don't have the insomnia I usually do when I quit drinking for the umpteenth time! Eh well I plan to keep taking the antabuse on occasion for a while and then I may keep some around if I know stressful times like holidays come up, as I just do not even want to slip up anymore. I am so tired of drinking. Congrats to all of you doing it-I know forums like this help a lot-that's why I want in I'm 33 and terrified I will die soon if I don't stop (in my early 20's there was massive alcohol abuse on top of cocaine). Nice to meet you all!

Hello Everyone, Just finished reading all the posts. Have been really busy over the weekend. Let my gaurd down on Frid night with a couple of wines (damn,damn!!!). So, back to Day 1 today. Not to stressed about my slip, I will look on it as an experience I can learn from. I should have stayed away from the restaurant though at least until I get a few more af days under my belt. Thanks everone for posting :thanks:

it's Sunday here and now I'm on holiday...sober still...exhausted on sofa watching DVDs with one of my daughters...still in PJs....will be about more soon but just wanted you to know I'm proud of you...SD you did good btw xx

Mya--Hooray for not drinking!

Akazia--Welcome! Do whatever you have to do to stay sober. I don't consider Antabuse to be cheating. Cheating would be denying your 4-year-old the mother that she deserves. You're doing great!

Boozer--I'm really happy that you're taking your slip as a learning experience instead of beating yourself up. You've gotta keep on going! I think it's great that you were able to limit your drinking to just a couple. Good for you!

Wow we are all making great progress.

Fly.. Day 12 and made it through a party sans wine! Isn't it surreal watching people get drunk while you are sober?

Boozer.. Sorry to hear about your slip up... It could of been worse! I am proud you came right back here!

Akazia... Do whatever you need to do to not drink. If you have a headache you take something right ? This is much more then a headache! And yes of course ... You are in! Welcome.
