    Swallow my Pride, need your.....

    Prayers !:h

Going through a sad time Right now. My friend from the christian group addiction died on friday at the age 39, she was one of us (Alcohol)
She was in and out of hospital last year and this year suffering inside with a lot of pain and not moan once about her pain, deep down she knew. It was hard and painful to see my friend going through this last year and this year. Her carer use to pick her up and take her to group meetings she was tooo weak too walk to the bus stop. The part of her liver that got damage was beyond repair.
I was not sure where to post this, may post this again somewhere. But starting out if i could get a message through to one person on this site or anywhere, this is where you could end up UNDER. Make it today to stop drinking. I know it hard, but it is worth it, sobriety is a gift of Life.
she never got to see her new born grandson that was born the other day..
Please try and keep this post on top, Just for today and maybe 2moro for the newcomers to read. Thank You.:l
I need to go soon, to support a friend right now that needs my help. WE all need to lean on someone for support.:h and today i need you, mwo.

Catch dear, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. It is so sad that she died so young and that that wee baby will never know his grandmother.

I hope this example of how AL can destroy our lives will make someone decide to stop drinking today and to fight to keep alcohol out of their lives. As you said, if you only get through to one person, it's worth it.

I don't know what else to say except that you and her family are in my thoughts. I wish you the strength to get through this very sad time in your life. Stick by the boards. We are all here for you.

          Right here Catch 22.

I'm sorry to hear that. We are not invincible where alcohol abuse is concerned.

Take care of yourself too. G-bloke.

Awe Catch. I'm so sorry to read about your friend. Deepest sympathies to you and all those who loved and cared about her. :l

We need these reminders of how high the stakes with AL really are. Every time I think silly trivial stuff like "how will I have fun after work on Friday" I need to stop and remember that continued drinking will not lead to "fun" - it will lead to death. Alcoholic death is not a pretty thing to see. I sure don't want to experience it.

            Thank you for sharing.

I'm thinking of you Catch and sending good vibes your way. This is indeed an awful disease for some and we can only be grateful that we have taken the steps to move on with our lives in time to achieve whatever we wish.

The beauty of MWO is that there are always people around who understand and know what you are going through, and I think your post will affect many to stop, think and put down the glass.

Catch-- I am so sorry about your friend. I often wonder if one day I will just wake and it will be too late for me and this is a real wake up call to continue with those changes we are making. Stay strong and bless you!

I also am so sorry. It is tragic the devastation that so many of us incur at the hands of alcohol. I will say a prayer to ease your sorrow. May we all be encouraged to do our best to help ourselves as well as others to realize the heartbreaking effects of alcohol.

                          Hi All
Catch so sorry to hear that your friend past.

I think that many of us here have had friends or relatives taken from us by AL. When you look at yourself and say "I am not that bad" please ad YET to the thought. Take this problem serious ---as if your life depended on it--because it does.
