    Welcome

    Hello Cailin! :welcome:
I've been on here for about a month and don't know much except to try and get on everyday! You will enjoy the support you'll find from so many others who are struggling with AL. Might I suggest the Newbie Nest... give it a try for a few days!

      Hi cailin,

Hello & welcome to MWO, this is a good place

A great place to start is by reading the MWO book. You can download it right from the health Store here on the website.
Yuo also need to mkae a good plan for yourself. Here's a link to the https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html. You;ll find lots of great ideas to help you with your plan.

Please drop in the Newbies Nest thread that greg just mentioned for ongoing support.
You made a good decsiion to take back control of your life ~ we're only too happy to help if we can.

      Wishing you the best!

There are also a few books in the "What We're Reading" forum about quitting drinking that people have raved about, but I haven't read them. There are some great tips in the Tool Box which Lavande has linked for you. And personally I found that L-Glutamine helped my cravings alot. But this is different for every person. Read, read, read, decide what strategies you want to use, and make a plan.

            cailin,

Do what I did: start a thread wherever you feel you belong--can be multiples, or just jump in and reply. No one will smack your fingers if you mess up. Shoot, I can't even get the smilies right yet! Play around for awhile, and you'll find many helpful people and tips. Problem is, if you're like me, when you want to get back to wherever you found something helpful you'll forget where it was.

The most important thing is that you're here.:welcome:
