    AF for two days in T-1 hour! Any pointers? I'm new!

    I've known that I've been alcoholic for years, and I have always intended to "slow down" but one beer and bam! Another 14 to follow! I have only be AF for a day at the most in many years (only because I was too hung over to drink or eat!) But in one hour I will have made AF day 2!

    I cannot believe all of the support here! It is absolutely amazing, and I think it will really help me on my journey to sobriety. I accidentally stumbled on this site about a week ago and it was the best thing I could have done! Knowing that I'm not alone in my struggles with AL and that I am not a bad person... It is the other side of me.. The side I wish didn't ruin almost every event it has attended.

    I figure it is time to give up the booze for a while! I felt so good waking up today not wreaking like a brewery and knowing I won't be hung over for work! Wish me luck on AF day 3! Please join me on my adventure...

    You are at a good place and congratulations with the two days. In another 3 you'll be feeling really good.

    Read and post as much as you can, and check the toolbox under the monthly abstainers thread.

      Hey Boh,

      Keep going....you will realize how good soberity is. Make sure you utilize this time to address the damage done to your body by putting in healthy stuff, hydrate to detox and some supplements for recovery.

        Hello Boh!
        Yes, you have found a great place for support, and I wish you well. Here's a few pointers....1. Have a plan (have you been to the Tool Box?) 2. Get the MWO book (you can download it) 3. Get the supplements and the CD'S ASAP 4. Get some form of regular exercise going 5. Drink tons of water. 6. Go and read the last 4 or 5 days of Newbies Nest and introduce yourself there. That's where you need to be for your first few weeks!

          Boh, good advice here already. I'm pretty new but am finding this site to be of enormous help. I would just add that reading about addiction has been a great tool for helping me stay sober. Also, reading the posts here.......tons of information if you'll take the time.

            I am truly astonished right now! I posted a thread for the first time last night before bed hoping to make 5 days AF but, when I woke up to read four posts I felt acceptance and encouragement! OMG I'm not alone in the crazy battle! Thanks so much, I plan on reading into all of the advice when I get to work...lol!

                Thanks! I really am going to take this attempt seriously!

                I've always lifted weights and I just started playing squash... Court booked for tonight again!
                Now that I think about it... Yes I do feel great after a good workout and totally don't crave the happy juice!

                After work it will be a soda water and exercise! that's my plan to have an AF day 3!
