Welcome! I am on day 3...last night was the night sweats and weird dreams for me, but other than that, not too bad. Sometimes just posting is the hardest. I lurked here for YEARS before I finaly did earlier this summer, now I am recommitted. There is no shame here and that is wonderful!AF 9/28/11

My pleasure! What has your Dr given you for withdrawal? I'm under medical supervision and a medical professional (Double edged sword!). I have ativan, but have been supplementing with multi vitamin, milk thistle and b complex. The one thing I added at night which seems to help was some calcium/magnesium. Who knows..maybe it's all in my head, maybe it's just the ativan which I only take at night.
I am pretty emotional too....mostly crabby and/or feeling sorry for myself. Trying to snap myself out of it by reading here or walking.
I hope you get some good sleep tonight!!AF 9/28/11

:welcome: bb1561! And you as well, gardengal! congratulations on taking steps to reclaim your life ~ you won't regret it! You'll get the hang of the forum aspect as you read and post. I'd like to point you to 2 popular threads I think are helpful. Maybe you will too.

Hi bb & welcome to MWO!
Congrats on your decision to take back control of your life!
I had a pretty wine habit going myself but that's all history now. I am grateful for the support I received here when I started. Please feel free to drop in the Newbies Nest for more support.
I remember feeling a lot of emotional turmoil too in the beginning but that will level out for you!
Take great care of yourself, drink lots of water, the night sweats will end soon
Wishing you the best!

Hi bb,welcome. You have done great by not only posting but starting a thread; you should've seen me when I came on - so scared!
So you've taken the first step and stopped drinking - that is brilliant. Reading posts here, as the others have said, is invaluable. I especially like to trawl back through really old posts - some good scenarios, advice and inspiration there too.
I know you will learn so much and then make a decision on how you want to go about it; looking forward to getting to know you.....IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN
Relapse starts long before the drink is drunk!!.Fresh Start!
