Millie, just wanted to say Welcome. You've found a good place. Can you tell us a little more about yourself? The main thing is to read and post a lot. Do you have a plan on how you're going to stop drinking? Do you exercise? Are you thinking of getting the MWO book or taking supplements? Give us a little more info and people will definitely come along to help you out.
Oh, and as you can see by my signature line, I too am an advocate for reading Kick the Drink by Jason Vale. It has kept me sober!! Also, here's link to the Toolbox, which has a lot of great and helpful information:

Welcome
Hello Millie2
Welcome to the first step of your new life.
If you need Java on your computer, just google "java download" and then download and install - 5 minutes ought to do it.
Your best bet here is to check into the Newbie's Nest. There you will find folks just starting out, like on Day 3 or Day 7, and also some folks who have a couple of months AF (alcohol free), and a couple of folks with some real quality time under their belts. You will receive lots of support there!
Today, you only have to do one thing, and that is to not drink today. You can worry about tomorrow tomorrow. Today, promise yourself you will not drink.
I will see you in the Nest!-Cap'n G

Hi Millie and :welcome:
I got my start on the path to sobriety by downloading and reading the My Way Out book from the health store. I ended up implementing all of the recommendations except for the prescription med Topomax. The road has sometimes been rocky, but here I am over 3 years sober. If I can do it, you can do it too!
