    Day 4 and feeling better

    Howdy folks.

Day 4 and i'm feeling better. Last night, i had the miagraine from hell and couldn't help wondering whether it had anything to do with my new lifestyle. Came home from work, ate a quick dinner and crashed on the couch from 6-8.30pm, had the funkiest dreams! What is that all about? Anyway, watched a fabulous movie and went to bed at 11.30pm, crashed and awoke at this morning at 7am.

    Glad you're feeling better!

Quite a few folks report having headaches, funky dreams and fatigue after they go AF. The body is working OT to clean out the toxins. Keep riding it through. What you are doing is worth it. It won't be long before you feel great!

Thanks Turnagain. Raging thirst is almost enough to get me out of bed and face the dishes! Hmm, and i have a nice treat in the fridge and some fruit salad for breakfast

        Day 4 and feeling better

Interestingly dereams occur when the brain is active after a heavy drinking session. It's not a sleep and lethargic state that makes all night being a one big chain of freams. I find it less dreamsy after few days of booze, but day after the hangover day, which lasts normally 2 days ( oh imagine how much I have to pour into myself to have that) I have the wildest dreams.

Yours is a day 4, I can last 4 days easy peasy and then it hits me and cannot control myself. Cravings, desires, wanting to drink. I's like beig on a honemoon for 4 days feeling good and then complete and utter disaster.

Keep couning the days, Make it 30 and you will be my hero!
I would love to join in, I am trying every week and every week I fail.

My friend is now moving into my place so I hope this will be a trigger to cease drinking.

        Keep up the good work!!

I'm really hoping i don't turn back. This time feels somehow different. Day 5 is usually the hardest as i'm feeling better and get the mindset that "one won't hurt"... Well, guess what? It does. I'm going to develop some goals because constantly in the back of my mind is the thought that i've got one life which i don't want to SQUANDER. I can't tell you how strong that feels sometimes, so i've got to hang on to that.

                Day 4 and feeling better

Hi Change, I can so relate to how you are feeling now. I am on day 7 and always before, when I start to feel good, I always convince myself that I have a handle on things and I can go ahead and have a few. Well, that is not the case. I know I can't. One leads to too many others and the habit continues. Well, today I feel great! Woke up with a mild headache. Not because of al but because of the lack of al. My body is in repair mode and I can accept that. A few cups of joe made it go away. Went to the gym and off to a movie later with my hubby. I too feel like things are different now and my hubby said the same. It was this site that gave me the tools to beat this thing. I have had no cravings and feel so upbeat. What a strange feeling to wake up on a Saturday and actually want to go to the gym. Now the trick is to stay this way over the Holidays. I just found out I am hosting Thanksgiving. Yikes! My family loves to knock 'em back. But I WILL stay strong. Keep on keepin' on Change.

Hi Mightymite! Good username by the way!

If you're determined not to drink over Thanksgiving, then you won't weaken. I've sat through many drinkathons during my sobriety and actually had a good time and waking up without a hangover is a bonus.

No hangover will be a plus, plus I might actually get dinner on the table on time. Thanks about the user name. My grandmother always called me that.

                        Wellsky,

I should change the title of this thread to Day 6 (or is it 7?), feeling better.

After two days of temptation (Day 5, historically, is hard for me as i general feel better and think that i 'deserve' a drink), i can safely say that i have made it this far. Yay! I simply won't be the person i want to be and know i am capable of being if i continue to drink. It is this thought that i hold on to.

N'way, on to Day 7 and came down with the flu last night. Have another splitting headache. I wonder if this flu thing is related to my quitting? Could it be this late in the game?

Grr, just using this as a log (a kind of diary).

Of any of the days that i would give in, today is it... Massive psychological cravings. Must be due to the fact that i'm feeling better and think that 'one' bottle won't hurt. If i can just make it to 7.30 - 8.30 pm, i'll be okay. Grr!
