An older drunk back on day one. Who's with me?

    FreeFly;1383858 wrote: Hey RC,

How's the marathon training going? Good luck, must be very soon
    :thanks: FreeFly!

It's in about 60 hours! (Not that i'm counting or anything!)... Sunday morning at Loch Ness. And if i catch a glimpse of Nessie, I'll post a pic of him/her to you all!

By the way, normally after a race that would be a fine excuse for a pint or 3... so i'm planning (he says optimistically) to have one of my favourite AF tipples which is a long cool pint of fresh orange and lemonade. Hmmmm.... nice!

You know what, I reckon that orange & lemonade will taste a whole lot better after that run. I shall pray for some sun for you

Best of luck with the run Running Courage. When you celebrate your 1st. place finish with a pint of fresh orange and lemonade, you'll also be reinforcing to yerself that rewards and self congratulation doesn't need to include booze. Give my regards to Nessie.

Friday morning here, and my day off. Had a great sleep. Geez, it's so good to be sober. There are no negatives. It is all just win, win, no matter which way i look at it. Life still throws us the curve ball's, but these are far less intimidating or debilitating sober.

I'm as calm as a monk on a mountain who's just finished eating his greens. :welcome:

          Hello mommy!!

How was your Day1?? Did you went thrue???

Yestarday i was sooooo tired that was not able to write in English (it' s my 4th language..).

My Day 1 was this time incrediably hard..shakes, anxiety, stiff muscles, pain in stomach..
The Day before i called (still drunk) to Help line for AL and drug addicts. When i drink for 1 week i start to have suicidal toughts and i don' t like this..she was very nice and professional and we talked for 40 min. She offered me Rehab and nurse from rehab called me yestarday, asked questions..the problem is that you have to wait for couple of weeks and i' ts only 5 days (covered by my medicare card) so conclusion was - IF i can make detox at home for at least 5-7 days i don' t need rehab...well, i don' t want too but i don' t know what happens with me in 2 weeks, so i'm on the list..

I don' t have any medication, so i did "cold turkey" as you:upset:

Day 2 morning was very terrible too because in the night i changed 5 t-shirts because of crazy swetting..

I forced myself not to stay in bed but start physical activities - very slowly, with shaking hands..loundry, kitchen, bedroom..probably blood starts circulating and that helps..i even did my yoga (very slow, mostly breathing)..

Tried to eat and take supplements and huge amount of water..after shower, make-up etc. went to the tram (15 min walk) and beach..walk and sit, walk and sit..than back to the tram..it helped too..

Day 3..I know that i'm NOT GOING TO DRINK TODAY...i would like to say - FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE - but as we know - ODAT..

            Hello G-Man!!! Congrats on your 60 days:goodjob:

In spite Australia and my alcoholic HB are killing me (but probably not, it' s ME!!!) i like spring in AUS when in Northern Europe is coming shitty autumn..

My daughter already is sick and she would like her mommy to caress, to hug her, to make her delicious food etc. I am good mum and i never had problems with AL when she was small (thanks God!), it really started when she' s was already teenager (14-15) and she was mad about it..
Now she undertands me and knows about MWO too (she will be 20) and begs - pls do something about AL, i love you so much..we have only skype conversations and many times i was drunk, got very emotional, crying..eh..
I'm happy to have this precious time on skype sober..When i wake up she sleeps already, when she wakes up she's ruuning to University so we have very little possibilities and it' s aprox 9.30, 10.00 p.m. AUS time..if i drink i'm already passed out at that time:upset:

Hi scottish lass!!! Remember you very well!!

FreeFly!! How are you doing??? I remember you too!!!

              Hi Audrey,

Nice to see you again. Congratulations on beginning day 3. Yes, ODAT. How are you feeling today? Any better? You should be feeling a little better by tomorrow. If you are worried today about withdrawal, it might be an idea to see a doctor? Get through this hell and you won't ever have to do this again. Take your life back. It is always a personal decision and very personal choice we make, regardless of our environment or the people around us.

When our partner's and friends are drinking around us, it can be difficult, but if we make the decision to stop from deep within ourselves, and we know with no doubt that this is the right road for us, then nothing can stop us succeeding.

I'm off for a run. Take care, and :goodjob: on day 3. Just keep going no matter what. You are tougher than what you may realise friend.

edit: x-post Audrey. Thanks for the congrats.

Here's the https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html have another read. Keep your recovery simple, but we must be serious about it and committed.

Hi Audrey - that sounded rough but you made it. Well done hun and you know it will become easier now that the al is leaving your system. Like G said, you only have to go through this now and never again. It must be hard for you being so far away from your daughter. I remember you from before and I think you said it was a bit lonely where you were. Have you made new friends now? :l

Sleep disturbed this end (3am) but don't mind as sober and I know that I have my recovering 10+ hours to look forward to soon, if previous AF times anything to go by

Not sure my music reflects my 'up' vibe here, but if you're really bored, there is a you tube link in my profile to a few songs. No new ones have been uploaded as yet, and a few older tunes there from last album, but feel free to download any song there if you happen to like it.

Hopefully new album finished around christmas. I will be sure to shamelessly plug it when ready!
