    My yarn

    Hi,

Im a Kiwi, been drinking since I was 16 am now 31. Moved to Australia and got a job with a surveying company. At the end of everyday we used to stop and grab a 6 pack of beer, which would end up being 2 even 3 per night sometimes. Drinking every day. Feeling like ass the next day. Binge drinking hard in the weekends.

It got really bad so I switched to light beer, but my intake would just increase or I'd drink some of my partners wine.

One Monday I just felt terrible so I had to stop. I currently have stopped drinking Sunday-Thursday (occasional beer on a hot day).

I still struggle with Friday and Sat night binges, I no longer wake up drunk and have a beer though. I stick to light beer so I can function the next day. I want to end the binges so I can function better on Sat and Sundays. I can sometimes polish off 15-24 beers in one session.

Anyway hi, thats me. I know I have a problem and Im working through it.

PS I quit smoking cold turkey, this is harder.

          Hi thewar,

I'm also 31, and drink as much as you do. 12 pack a night and if that's not enough, I go for another 6 pack....good luck.

hi guys and welcome TW. i found quitting fags worse than drink. funny that. have been smoking since i was 14 and now 47 so that cld explain that one. did not start drinking till 17 and then binged but got to the heavy ridiculous stage about 6+ years ago. i have found no AL is fine, do get the occasional craving but i think AL is more of a habit even though i am an alcoholic, wont deny that one, runs in the family. fags are next but think i need that crutch till the silly season is over and my mother is coming to stay for 6 weeks. mmm going to take a lot of willpower then ha ha
