Anyway, I am excited because I just found a drug interaction website thru webmd and it said it would not be unsafe for me to take the topamax with my other medications!!Tags: None

:welcome: Myohmy!
It's good to have you here. I think a lot of people are busy today with New Year stuff!
It sounds like you have a good many meds already going on. Do you have a good doc to help moniter them?
I take Zoloft and have been reading some on the effects of some of the newer antidepressants on craving alcohol. Look in the research section her on MWO and also on RJ's blog. You can Google your drug name and alcohol craving for info.
I think you can download the book also.
Hang in there. The mailman cometh...sooner or later!
Love,

i've been posting a few times already, but feel that I need to stick to one forum for some support. I've been alcohol free a few times, but always, always go back to it. I want to get off it, but somehow give in. I hope that I've done this for the last time. I read posts here and it is obvious that folks who drink more that I do are able to get through. Why then do I fail? I know that the support will help. Does the craving last forever, or does it get better as the weeks go by? Tylyr

I got my supplements in the mail, haven't gotten the book yet, I'll let you know how it goes, keep in touch! It's not that some people have willpower and some don't. It's that some people are ready to change and others are not.

Hi tylyr, If I were you I would stick with this forum, the support and friendlieness is fantastic...As to cravings, well it depends on whether or not you are taking any supplements....I took quite a mixture during the first four weeks or so and they really helped with the cravings...When ever I had a craving for anything sweet ( full cream sherry was my favourite drink ) I made sure I had plenty of chocolate and cakes in the cupboard as my thinking was, quit the booze, then work on the obvious weight gain....It seems to be paying off for me...I still get cravings, but not as badly....I quit smoking seven years ago and to this day I sometimes get a craving for a smoke now and then...I do believe that once you rid your body of all alcohol then the rest is in the mind...This place is not a quick fix solution, it takes constant hard work and awareness at all times, but remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE ON YOUR JOURNEY... we are all here to help one another..
Good Luck...LouiseA F F L..
