Hi everyone. I just found this site last night and decided to join and post today.
Im 35 and married for 5 years . I have a 4 year old daughter.
I have been drinking almost everyday for a couple of years. Im tired of it.
I dont want my daughter to see this behavior everyday. I want her to see me doing constuctive things.
Im also soooooo tired of feeling like crap. My hubby is supportive of me and my descion to get my drinking under controll. Im just not sure what Im going to do at night now!
    Thanks for listening.

Hi Daisy, well done for joining, it will really help and ecourage you. I am making myself do 30days abs and then i'll decide if I can be moderate, but I am starating to feel so good without drink that I may continue. I think you've got to decide to quit and then deal with each day as it comes. I have children too and they have seen me in some terrible states. At night you can go on this site, read, be good to yourself, you have the company of your huspband too, i'm a single parent. Very best wishes, you are doing the right thing xx

      Hi Daisy,
I'm new here too and in a really similar situation, Its great that your husband is supportive, mine is too. I had to come clean regarding my drinking habits and was so surpirsed that he was supportive and not judgemental.
I struggle at night too, my drinking was my cut off from the day and I feel like I've lost an old friend, I know I need to flip this reasoning as i have not lost anything but have gained freedom from my decision to stop. I am now day 3 AF and am not sure if i want to stop altogether or try moderation. I think I will know one way or the other soon enough though.
I am using suppliments and not meds as my husband and I are trying to conceive and have bad cravings at night. I have found reading a good book helps, may sound silly but it just takes my mind off it.
I hope you are able to find your inner strength with the aid of the community on this site. Take care of yourself.

Thanks. My goal today is to just get to the weekend without drinking. I know I can do it.
I actually did buy a book yesterday and did help last night. I think I will focus some of my energy on cleaning and organizing my house. My daughter has dance tonight so that is a good thing.

              Hi Daisy

Welcome to the boards Daisy! I hope you find the support and strength you need here. This is a great place to get it!

I am a 34 year old mother of a 20 month old daugther, and I too am sick and tired of being sick and tired! I have decided to make a change that will benefit my family as well.

Congradulations on your decision to get well! The first part in the recovery process is admitting you have a problem. The second is reaching out for help. Good for you!!!!

Again, welcome! And keep posting.... good or bad, we are all here for each other! :welcome:

                Welcome Daisy!

I have just joined this forum and it hsa been great to have the like minded support from other people on this forum. I have no kids, but hope to one day. Great thing about giving up drinking is this may help in that area as well.

I am on day 7 of AF!

Hi Daisy and Welcome. I have two 4 year olds and an 18 month old and need to get my drinking under control as well. Glad your husband is supportive. Mine just doesn't talk about it and doesn't drink so doesn't really get it.
Glad you are here. Your kids will love you for it. I know mine will. I'm a much better sober mother than stumbling drunk one.
