Good for you Vini! Keeping busy and staying away from alcohol in the beginning is key. I know it's tough now with cravings or people drinking around us, but it gets much easier. Keep up the great work!

UW thanks for the enthusiastic welcome. I would like to think this is for life but those thoughts come of "well, I do drink normally most times" and "I really am a whole lot better than I was when I found MWO". However, I love feeling vibrant and more self confident without the dragginess and sometimes shame of alcohol use/abuse. I do not take it on the chin like I use to, ya know? So, we shall see. I am definitely in for January and will go from there.

Canadian Girl we have the same stop date but you are ahead of me!

Hello everyone. Went out for dinner and ordered sparkling water. Onto day 9. Not easy but yet not that difficult when your out w/someone who is drinking. Was very aware of everyone in the restaurant and I'd say almost everyone was drinking. Funny how when I am drinking I only notice the drink in front of me. Hope everyone is well and will have an enjoyable AF Sunday.

Hi Folks:
I love the idea of the roll call. So far January has been mostly gloomy here in BC Canada but I am not going to let the clouds sit over my head. Today, I cleaned up a whole bunch of paper and tidied up the house. It is the first time in quite a while that I have felt like I have accomplished a dent in caos in our home. I feel liberated. You guys are doing awesome, hang in there.

hi jammers.hope everyone is enjoing a sober sunday. i was mentally struggling a bit last night. it just crept up on me so .... a long bath with a good book and it passed. we got a new game for xmas 'go' (apparantly its a really old game but ive never heard of it). anyway we started playing that and it messed with my brain so much that there was no space left to think about drinking... hmmm perhaps ill become and expert at it to stay sober.
