hi jammers... im having computer problems and struggling to get on internet. fingers crossed it seems to be working now. its a beautiful day here so i think a good walk with the dogs will clear out some cobwebs. im feeling a bit twitchy but hopefully a good walk will knock it out of me.

Hi everyone, and thanks again for the kind and forgiving words. I emailed my brother to apologize for the lie. He is a very caring brother...we are going to chat on the phone later.

You know, when I did slip last night, I thought "what the hell" might as well join all the MWOers that I don't see check in any more, and drink (not that the ones that don't check in are drinking). Is that bad thinking or what? That AL beast can really mess with your mind. So, it is really important for all of us to check in here.

Available, do you want Jenny to add you to the list? Thanks for the condolences about my dad. I'm doing much better today. Just happy he didn't have pain or linger in some awful state.

My Life - sounds like you got past a tough time last night - it's always focusing on how I'll sleep and the futility of starting to drink again that saves me. I cannot bear to get back into a rut.

SL, I think of AL too - this isn't easy. But, I really believe if we keep going it will eventually be........I read a post by Madmans (he's a year sober) where he said now he looks back and he can't even remember what it was like to be that person (I'm paraphrasing but something to that effect). I'm holding onto that idea.......where eventually I won't think about AL very much if at all and that being sober will just feel natural. I can remember the was I was at about the age of 40 after my divorce......I look back on who I was then and feel like a totally different person. I really believe it will be the same with AL. I think the first year is a struggle - obviously getting better by the month but a struggle nonetheless. Then I think it changes fairly dramatically.

Irie, Hyper and all you other jammers, have a super remainder of your weekend and keep the faith!:l:l

UW i love the positives that you are feeling and congrats on 60 plus days, you must feel extremely proud and so you should.

I would love Jenny to add me. today is day 1 after tapering last week, so its 15/1/2012 to getting my life back AF.

BG stay strong you can do this. We just need to climb back on and start again, at least we are trying and that is so much better than just drinking.

UW - Congratulations on passing 60 days!!! That's awesome. Now on to 100 days, right?

Strong, Scottish, Belle, great to hear from you guys! Scottish - you are awesome to have passed up temptation last night.

I have been struggling last night and today for some reason. My cravings never seem to follow a pattern - I think I start getting lulled into thinking everythings okay after a couple of weeks so that's a problem for me. Anyway, I'm making a butternut squash soup and staying in tonight with a book.

Available - I added you and then did a separate post here.....so you're now on the list! Sounds like you're ready! And, thanks Available - I am feeling very positive. Somehow getting through milestones like the loss of my dad without alcohol makes me feel like I have a better chance of continuing to be successful.

RC - fantastic on your first AF birthday! That's an accomplishment, isn't it? It's how I felt too getting past the holidays AF. Way to go.

Belle - I'm glad you've dusted yourself off and recommitted!

SL and Spuds - I went for a nice long walk today too - it was lovely here, so the walk was especially enjoyable.

ML - actually, I put 90 days as my next goal - somehow I think in 30-day increments. But 100 has a nice ring, doesn't it - triple digits! ML - I made butternut squash and homemade bread for dinner - how funny.......it was absolutely yummy. Hope you enjoyed yours too. I know what you mean about being hit at odd times with drinking thoughts......just remember that the cravings/desires don't last all that long - maybe 15 minutes. Then, suddenly some time passes and you think......okay, made it through that diversion...........

On to watch a little Nip/Tuck which I have waiting for me on Netflix Streaming........it's a very naughty show, but entertaining! Man, there isn't anything taboo on that show.

Have a wonderful AF night everyone - great job all in saving ourselves from the wretched clutches of AL!
