Hello All,

Just a late night post before bed. I had my butternut squash soup - it was very yummy!! UW - that is too funny we were eating similar things tonight!

I read the best "Kindle Single" tonight. My husband and I are on the coast of Florida for the 3-day weekend and I forgot my books. (PROBLEM!) Luckily I had my Kindle in the laptop bag so I downloaded a couple things. Anyway, the single I read was a true story about an ex-alcoholic called "The Long Run". It was really worth reading - so any of you who are reading stories of recovering addicts may want to add it to your list this weekend!

SL - great to hear from you. Cheerleaders and Angels are all around us here - isn't it great! :H

Drifty -34 weeks! I can remember when you were starting in May - you have been so inspiring with your journey. I have been reading your posts since May and have been so impressed with your progress.

well you all seem to be doing really well. I just went on a coffee date and on friday i got rather drunk and thought i had rang or msgd him as heard nothing yesterday and thought well i have to live with what i must have said and felt very down as he seemed lovely. well guess what i did not thanks god and he seems lovely. and it gives me more determination than ever as he is lovely

A few of us have started over but we are still here so we still are fighting the good fight! There is no shame in trying and falling only in not trying at all. Life is a roller coaster! All we can do it ride it to the best of our ablity and try a be a better us today than we were yesterday...I am a better me today than I was yesterday for sure! Keep it going guys!

Damn it. I don't even want to talk about it. It's three am on Sunday morning. I'm out of town at a family event and I drank last night. Boy did I ever. Just woke up with that horrible middle if the night realization. I don't know why I did it other than just the sheer noise of the little kids playing was driving me crazy. I don't know how I'm going to face everyone in the morning. What I do remember is embarrassing. I had really hoped this would never happen again. And of course, I had to blow it in such a public way.

I'll catch up properly later. I hope everyone else fared better. I haven't had a chance to read posts for a couple of days.

I've been there and done that hundreds of times. Nobody will be amazed at your behaviour, they're most likely used to it.
So......take care of yourself and do some pampering today.
Then try to take stock of your situation and be more resolved to get out of this cycle.

I am in a huge struggle to access and confront my problems and i am determined to do this, and i think talking it through with like-minded people is the way to do it.

Irie, just saw your post, I hope everything is okay. Like the others have said, been there and done that so many times and it's a horrible feeling. You sound pretty determined to put it behind you and get back on track, I hope you can focus on that. We are all here for you. :l

I had a bit of a wobble last night, major craving. I managed to get past but it wasn't easy. I wonder if it ever will get easy?

BH - yes I can promise you it gets easier. Be sure to re-read Mohun's post to get an idea. We have to be patient - it took us a long time to get ourselves into this mess so we can't expect miracles in just weeks or even a month or two. Scroll back a day or so to find MY LIFE's link to Mohun's post. Or let me know and I'll repost it. In the meantime, you're doing great! You've gotten past some really hard spots; keep it going!!

Irie, as Jenny says, starting over is way better than not trying at all. Try to figure out what happened, revamp your plan, and get it going again!

Sorry for not checking in lately. For those of you who don’t know, I was forced into letting 2 13 year old girls live at mine for a week. I wasn't asked if they could, I was told. And it was so that I could speak English to them and help them improve their English. I hate being used. So I have been busy working, cleaning, cooking and trying to entertain these girls. Not easy at all. So this has to be kind of quick. I hope I don't miss anyone

RC- have a great birthday! This is one birthday you will definitely remember tomorrow morning. That’s a nice present that you are giving to yourself.

UW- Congrats on 60+ days! AMAZING! So proud of you!

Belle- We’ve all been there. Just get back on the horse and start again. You know you can do this.

Available- I love your attitude. You couldn’t have said it better. At least you are trying.

My Life- I know exactly what you mean. Today I thought maybe in a few weeks, I could have a drink and I’d be ok. How strange eh? I’m doing anything and everything I can when I feel like a craving....mostly eating chocolate. I’ll worry about the extra pounds later. Stay strong! You are doing great so far!

Drifty- You are awesome! Congrats on 34 weeks! You must be feeling wonderful and like a whole new person! Keep it up!

Irie- Sorry to hear about last night. I understand the stress of having to hang out with family, little ones, everyone else drinking around you. This is not an easy battle but I know that you can do it. Forget about what happened yesterday and start right back at day 1. No shame in it at all. We’ve all been there. As I always say, our slips are our lessons and our stepping stones towards our ultimate goal.
