What I don't like about being newly sober...Rant then keep it movin'

Oh my goodness... These are great... And funny. Olive Garden... That is so true... And the sweets comment... Who the hell ever thought of making a candy called Laffy Taffy? You can not just eat one. I have to eat the whole bag. And it gets all caught up in my teeth. Geez... Still a good trade though.. And I love how many timex "the bitch" is mentioned. Seriously laughing my butt off....
    Thanks

Laughing along with the rest of you! I live near an olive garden too but when I go for lunch, I'm heading back to work and since I can get fired for drinking (no matter how much) and coming back to work, that will be the motivation I need to steer clear.

Otherwise, I'm just avoiding eating out for now - too soon to face the temptation for me.

      You guys are hilarious! :H:H:H

LMFAO!! Unwasted, I almost just peed my pants laughing so hard!
K9 it is SOOO much funnier when you add "bitch" to it. I will add bitch to everything I say for the rest of the day lol.

Ok, I HATE when someone is looking at your iPhone and they see all your sobriety apps. Bitch.

I hate that I am so excited every morning about another day sober but I have to call someone on the way home so I don't buy wine. My car WANTS to go to the liquor store!

I hate every ridiculous rationalization that alcohol plants into my brain and I have to kill every single weed that keeps popping up. Miracle grow, it's alcohol miracle grow and it just grows with no fricken fertilizer. I need to find the industrial sized Round-Up for alcoholic weeds. Bitch.
            Day 1 again 11/5/19
            Goal 1: 7 days :heartbeat:
            Goal 2: 14 days :happy2:
            Goal 3: 21 days :happy2:
11/27/19: messed up but back on track
12/14/19: bad doozy but back on track

            One day at a time.

I hate having to come to work when I'm sick because other people came in sick because they think they're oh-so-important that they can't stay home one freakin' day. Bitch.

I hate the fact that my poison of choice (Bud Light) is ALWAYS on sale now. Where were these deals when I was buying it? Talk about Murphys Law. Bitch.

I hate that I don't have any breadsticks to eat right now. Bitch.

              LOL

Nite everyone, this grumpy gal is going home to bed, hopefully waking up with no congestion and a better attitute.

Thanks for the laughs...it does help a lot.

              Night, bitches. :H

The not addicted to breadsticks bitch had me belly laughing so hard I think I finally got rid of the last of the nastiness that was coating my lungs since this flu started. Don't usually hack a lung when I laugh but this time I read it aloud to hubby and we both were doubled over. Hilarious.

Hopefully I can add to this thread soon...

I hate that I can't sink into a stoned trance and let the world just pass me by.
I hate that I can't excuse myself from being responsible.
I hate that the problems that were nicely numbed are galringly obvious when I'm sober.

Clare - You are right. It's YOUR choice whether you drink or not. If people can't accept that, then they are probably trying to cover up their own problem. Because if everybody is drinking, then nobody stands out as the problem drinker. You do what is right for YOU.

Clfog - Yep...alcohol lets us forget our problems and responsibilites, for a while. Until we wake up and our problems and responsibilities are still there, only now we've got to deal with them with a hangover. Drinking is like pushing "pause" on the remote. What's coming is inevitable. Alcohol just puts it on hold for a while, and then makes us less capable of dealing with it. And in my case, it added problems each and every time I used it. So not only were my original problems still there, alcohol threw in a few more for me to deal with, every time. Please hang in there and know that the first few days are the toughest and then it does get easier!

Tipplerette - Glad we could help you hack up that gunk that was clogging your lung! Hope you're feeling better and breathing a bit easier!

This is not a rant, and maybe has already been said, but dang how boring people are when they start to get really loaded, and YOU are sober - the same old jokes, the same old stories, the same old tales or else they start a story then the point never gets reached and they wander off - man why do I hang around with these bores!! Sad eh? Yet when you talk to them a few days later they are the same old friends, the same old neighbours!!! Nice folks but get a few too many glasses of wine into them and yuk!!
Ask yourselves, would you rather be a non drinker with an occasional desire to drink or a drinker with a constant desire to stop doing it?

MOWL- But the funny part is that they probably think they are so hilarious, intelligent, witty and talented...I know I used to think I was! I think I'd like to experience being around some inebriated folks one of these days. I've never been the sober one. It would be a first time for me...hey, I guess that makes me a "only one sober" virgin!

MWOL and K9 - when I was stuck at a bar last weekend (NOT drinking) I had to listen to so many annoying people laughing at so many stupid jokes that had no punchlines...it's really an eye opener.

I have to say the "bitch" rant had me laughing - I'm with Tipplerette - if I'd had gunk in my lungs it would have been gone by now. Instead I just got in a really great belly laugh at something that really WAS funny! You bitches are hilarious.
