^^I think Nursie was being facetious. So many anomalies are reported in the news these days, on reality shows, the internet, etc., that it seems everyone has a pathological problem. Drinking is no less self-destructive, however.

Nursie - I saw the preview for that Addiction show you were talking about. OMG was all I could say. I'm not even sure I'll be able to watch that one!
My rant for the day is this: I hate that there's no way to convince kids of what alcohol is really like. You can show them films, talk until you're blue, and they will still have to find out the hard way. Society has done a fine job of glamourizing it, that's for sure.:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

I hate that I was happy earlier and now I'm just "blah". Nothing happened either. Maybe it's just the Monday Blues. Or it could be that I am BORED at work and really wish I had a challenge now and then. I keep reminding myself to be thankful I have a job, even if I don't love it. Thoughts of drinking flew in and out of my brain earlier too. Not a chance of that thanks to Antabuse. I wonder if I'd make it without Antabuse? Sometimes I feel like I'm "cheating" by taking it Okay now I'm rambling. I'm going in search of chocolate, that will make me feel better.:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

K9, you know what you need to do to not drink, and you knew you needed Antabuse. Maybe you don't now, but it is never cheating if it helps you to break a destructive habit, as long as it's not destructive itself. No one's trying to win the 'strongest' person here.
I hate that when I get annoyed or angry, or just plain bored, there's no alternative to the sober reality, lol.

LG - Thanks for the pep talk about the Antabuse, you are right, I'm still sober either way, and that's what matters! How are you doing? Have you been getting to work on time? LOL It's funny, I get in to work at least 15 minutes early every day and nobody says anything about that, but boy you come in 5 minutes late once and you are unreliable! They're lucky I even showed up during my drinking days. I shouldn't complain, they're actually pretty relaxed here. I DO work for the government after all. Punctuality and being efficient are not exactly our strong points. LOL
I guess I don't have a rant for now...but I'm sure one will come up soon. HA

And I HATE that kids don't have more information on the realities of AL also so I'm with you on that too!

Mylife - Lets remind ourselves that we are NOT cheating, any more than someone that uses AA. We use the tools that work for us. The fact is, we are sober...and you really can't cheat at that...you either are, or you aren't. And by golly we ARE! Keep up your good work and keep taking those pills as long as you need to! (And so will I!):heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Hey K9! I'm doing well, in that I'm not drinking, lol. Other than that, pretty much the same. I'm still getting to work by the skin of my teeth, he hee.
Rant: I hate that I'm still fat and I've been AF for 20 days.:H Wasn't it supposed to fall off magically, she says, while stuffing a reese cup in her mouth.:H

LG - LOL! I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups! I don't know why everyone at work insists on having bowls full of candy sitting around all the damn time. Don't they know they are making me fat? It has nothing to do with MY will power you know. LOL I'm glad you're eeking into work on time. Baby steps! Besides, you never want to set the bar too high, then they expect too much out of you. J/K
I guess I do have a rant after all: Where in the heck is all the money I am supposedly saving by not buying a 12 pack of beer a day? I guess I am buying "necessities" now...go figure.:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

K9 - you are right I know - at the end of the day the goal is to be sober no matter what it takes!!
LG - I was going through that process for my first two weeks AF - What the %^&# is with the weight gain??? (As I ate every sweet I could get my hands on LOL!!) And K9 - you're right - where's all that extra Money??!!! In my case I think it went to Food!

I definitely gained weight at first. Then got back on my healthy, exersizy plan.
K9, Antabuse is no more cheating than chemo is for cancer. We made up our minds that we will be sober no matter what. No matter who.

No rants (yet) today either.
Nursie - What movie were you watching that made you want to drink? EVERY movie made me want to drink because that was my M.O.: A movie, a 12 pack and a pack of ciggies. Of course the one-and-a-half hour movie would take me 3 hours to finish because I'd have to get up after every beer to go outside to smoke. Then I'd forget where I was and have to rewind, then eventually I'd get so drunk I forgot I was even watching a movie because I'd be off doing other things (like cleaning the toilet at 12am). So there are tons of movies I've technically rented but still have never "seen". What a fun time eh?
Ok bitches...stay strong and keep it real.
