Hi Wenzalc
Doesn't matter that you haven't been here for ages, you're here now. Read everything you can on this site and it will help you. I am a newcomer and I know how much I have gotten out of being here already. We don't want you to die and I don't think you want to die either.

Hi Wenzlac,
Welcome back. Do you want to stop drinking? If so, I know you'll find great support here. Take some time to read the book, read through some of the threads and posts, and keep coming back. If you're planning to stop, you might want to read up about withdrawals - not to scare you buddy, but just to make the early days a bit more comfortable for you. You've taken the first step, that's huge. Now it's just a matter of "one foot in front of the other"
best wishes,
Olly

Thanks guys, I have truly fallen back even though I once could abstain for a few days but now I am finding very lame excuses just to drink. Its as though I DIE DIE must drink. Now I dun drink I can't sleep. It's bad because I alternate between diazepam and alcohol on different days but mostly I am doing alcohol cos even valium can't put me to sleep! I'm thinking of going for hypnotherapy soon.

Hi,
I'm very new here too. Only on day 4 of AF and am already starting to feel there's light at the end of the tunnell. I would suggest you see a doc about getting something for the whithdrawal days. I did and it helped me no end.
As for the abdominal pain, I had more that a little discomfort and it's alreay easing off. The liver is a very tenaceous organ and will heal itslef, but you must help it by abstaining.
Also, the support and advice you get here is priceless! Stay posted!
Behind you all the way.

Wenzalc,
You took the first step in saying you need help to stop drinking. I am also fairly new here (2 weeks) but have found the support out of this world. Read all the posts you can, you will surely find many of the same stories as yours. I find it so easy to talk on chat and write posts, never feel judged, and truly feel everyone on this sight knows where I am coming from because they have or are there as well.
Take a deep breath and start feeling good about your self and know you are not alone.
:welcome:

Wenzalc - welcome! I strongly suggest speaking to your doctor about this. He/she may be able to help you with a plan to help you stop drinking. At least help you with the withdrawal process.
During the first few nights of being AF most of us go through the same in regards to sleep problem. It passes as your body gets use to not being sedated to sleep. You will feel like crap, that is a given, but in the long run it is soooo worth the effort. I found the first 3 nights horrific, but expected it. I grabbed a blanket, went downstairs, turned on the tv and sipped on tea the first few nights. I did manage to get a few hours of shut eye here and there. If you are in your bed and tossing and turning this will just add to your frustration.
You are so young and you have a LONG life ahead of you if you want it. Being in your 20s and realizing you have a problem is an awesome start!!! I would suggest again, seeing your doctor. In the meantime, read and post here. Download the book if you are able to. I wish you all the best.

The trickiest time is the first month.
You feel like crap. You feel better if you drink a little to get rid of the withdrawal symptoms. You withdraw, you sweat, you have the dry heaves, you puke, you have head aches, your skin crawls, you don't know what to do with yourself, you're depressed, you're loathing.
Then eventually it passes. You begin to feel better. You're happier. Now You may let your guard down. This is the critical time to take the bull by the horns. See a Dr. Do the program. Do whatever works.:flower: Change a life; make someone feel important. ................. ........................ ..................... ........................ ................. ....... sigpic

Hi Wenz and welcome again.
There is little I can ad to the good advise bestowed on you by the others.
Do come to this site as often as you can and read the posts, the book, listen to th CDs and generally talk to us. Nobody is judgemental and everyone knows where you are coming from. We are all in the same boat.
You are so very young and have a whole life to live. Go see your Dr. and if he/she won't help, find another one. You can beat this.

Wenz, Wow, Did you read all that. We love you- we love you partly because we see ourselves in you. Most of us have been where you are or somewhere near. Many of us may not be far from where you are now. You came here because you know that there is an answer here. Hypno is a great idea - the hypno tapes are helping me SO MUCH... The doctor is a good idea - help you through the first few days. How about work can you take some time off? Go to a friend's house for a few days...just to get you started.
Wenz, We are right there with you - routing for you 24 hours a day. You can read and post all night - someone is always there.
A thousand blessing!!!

Wenzalc...welcome home...There is much good advice above, and I would definitely second it...No matter what age you are, you are ALWAYS to young to die from alcohol...there is a better, happier, healthier life out there, and you're young, you should have so much time to make use of it.
Go see the doc sweetie...you sound so desperately worried, and, if you feel as if you are on your own with no support, no long term plan..it can often feel far too hard to make that first step, take advantage of everything you can Wennie, and let us know what you're going to be trying, sometimes, cementing this thing in the brain is far easier when it is 'out there'....really hoping to read a post soon that says you found something good....Much love Weemeonhead
