Oh wow...peed on the side of the road over a fire ant hill....stood on top of an busy over pass...what a dumb***! also consumed drugs...slept with people I didn't know....been violent...crashed 4 cars an came out with a scratch...drove over 100 miles an hour with friends in the car for fun....Oh the list could go on and on...wow that is actually scarey to admit...not to mention all the things I have done and havent remembered

Nursie and UK - I think we're lucky we didn't drink together...you two are my (naked) soul sisters! LOL

On my second DUI I was vomiting as the cop opened the door, I tried to say I had the "flu"...too bad my vomit was pure margarita. They cuffed me loosely and I got out of the cuffs thinking I'd make a run for it, but I was in the back of the cop car. Not sure where I was planning to run, and thank god I didn't even try! Spent two days in vomit covered clothes in the clink. My brand new car was towed and I ended up having to give it back, after all the fines I couldn't make the payments.

At least 3/4 of what has all ready been written/ done. Just reminds me why I don't want to ever drink again. E-gads, I don't get why I would want to punish myself & those I love. I suppose most all those times I never realized that's exactly what I was doing. I'm finally getting it. Alcohol isn't fun anymore & hasn't been for a long time. Boy I was so blind. If or more likely when I get sideways ~ romanticising the drink this will be my go to thread. Thanks peeps.

It was a full-moon night and I thought, what fun to go out and take a ride on one of my horses. BAREBACK. And, of course, drunk as seven earls after a big bottle of pinot grigio. I called my horse, offered him a treat, and hopped from the pasture fence onto his back. Walked, trotted, then cantered---about two strides later, I came off that horse like a sack of potatoes. Whacked my head on a tree root and blacked out. When I came to, my dear, sweet horse was nudging my face! Scary.

from little things like stealing a glass full of wine from my good friends home so I could drink it once i got home.....I actually hid a full glass of wine in my purse and left her house with wine swishing about in my purse.....so embarrassed....I still have that glass hidden somewhere...too scared of getting caught if I sneak it back and too embarrassing to fess up to it.....how stupid is that?

To big things: I was basically raped by this guy who put me in a cab and insisted he get me up to my apartment and i was simply too drunk to resist.....I guess he thought my persistent "no" meant yes....woke up fully clothed with stockings and underwear around my ankles but no memory of what happened (although funny i do remember saying NO). That was over 25 years ago and thank god I have no memory of the actual act....

I too thought I always had really bad luck with men. Then, in law school, I dated some jerk who didn't drink so I didn't either for the year we were together.....unbelievable when I think of it now. Then right after we broke up (thankfully woke up - he was controlling and mean), I met the man I married and still love like crazy and we have been married for 18 years. So, bad luck while drinking, incredible luck when sober for a long time.....doesn't take rocket science.

it was in a big heavy (expensive crystal) tumbler.....and i was very drunkenly careful.....god forbid the sacred wine spilled......that glass must be worth at least $50......I feel horrible about it......

Reading here, crying, soooo upset.

Just wanted to lapse into unreality last night. Could barely stand it. Ate myself into oblivion instead buit feel so horrible this morning.

Reading, reading reading....so many people we hurt. So much awefullness. So much TIME wasted. :upset:

I have to stay focused or I'm gone. Feel like I am swimming to far from shore lately. Need these life lines, need all of you to pull me back in.. God, I hate this.

I'm so sorry Mr. G. Not much gratitude this morning. Can't even remember what I ate last night !!

Okay this is what I'm thinking this morning- Who cares if I'm not drinking anymore? I mean really? All the drinking stuff Is still out there. It's still on the books...

People in jail may not be robbing or killing anyone anymore but we're all looking at them as criminals...
Even when they get out, half of them can't get a job with a felony conviction. That's how I feel- cant get a job (figuratively) so what the hell.

Someone wrote here- I think it was kuya, " no shame when drinking. Crushing shame when sober....

When does the crushing part go away...?

Hi Kradle. I'm sorry you're feeling down this morning. Glad to hear that you didn't give in and drink last night. You can always recover from eating too much, at least easier than drinking too much. As for people we hurt...there's no changing the past. You have to forgive yourself, first and foremost. How the ones we hurt feel is something we cannot change. All we can do is vow to never hurt them again, at least not through drinking and not intentionally anymore. Be well and know that you are a great person.:l
