rough day but ready to get at it!

I went to the library today and saw a book titled "can't sleep barely awake". Really is a tug of war for sure. I'm good, it's almost 7:30 PM here (I'm in New Zealand) and I'm feeling like I should be alright for tonight's sleep.. Last night at midnight I was bouncing off the walls. I'd gone to the movie Safe House and it was pretty action packed so I was all stimulated. I slept in a little but forced myself to get up and just logged on here. Well, I saw your online so just checkin' in... hope the sandman comes soon.

rough day but ready to get at it!

      Hi and Welcome Finally Done!:welcome:

You've already gotten lots of good advice here, but I just want you to know that you CAN do this. It wasn't that long ago that I would not have believed I could stop drinking - it was a part of everything I did - my life revolved around it.

With the help of this site, reading and posting a lot, reading tons of books on addiction, exercise, healthy food and staying away from situations that might tempt me as much as possible, I am now approaching 4 months sober.

Just know that you CANNOT take one drink - as one of the long-timers here says - just say NO, HELL NO to that first drink.

Sending you peace and strength :lilheart:

rough day but ready to get at it!

Hiya FD! I can't say much as you have been through this numerous times (as have I) and know what to expect. Just remember that in about 3 days time you will feel like a whole new person. 1 week later you will feel like the man you are supposed to be. Now that is a pleasant thought, isn't it? I also love the sober life and really don't know why I always go back to the Demon. But not this time for us right? I'm 29 and, like you, don't want to see myself 6 feet under before I hit 40. You CAN DEFINITELY do this. We are all here for you. I hope you feel better today. Try to get a little sleep....or at least lay down with your eyes closed. Come visit us on the newbies nest!

              Hi FD!
Hope you feel better today! Rest as much as possible and take your Ativan as needed, it really should help. Let us know how you are!

rough day but ready to get at it!

Hi K9Lover! I just got back from school. The shakes and naseau I had this morning is passing now and I was able to eat a rather large and HEALTHY lunch. Still some anxiety but it is manageable. Still really tired from a lack of sleep, but I am hopeful tonight i can at least catch a few good hours of restful sleep. Hope everyone is having a great and sober day!
