My friend Diana died a couple weeks ago as a direct result of ALCOHOL and the sadness,emptiness and anger has taken me to thinking about drinking everyday..Today I realized I am now not only staying sober for me I am also staying sober in honor of her.I am Thankful for this site it has been my foundation on this journey and I say journey because this will never be over for me and since coming here my life has changed in every way Outlook, Sleep, Diet, Communication and Most important the way I look at myself in the mirror every single morning. I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. Thank goodness you are staying strong and not drinking. I pray you are able to keep vigilant in this fight and live a long healthy happy life. That is the best thing you can do for your friend and i bet she wants this for you too.AL free since March 17th 2011...loving this life. No drinking no matter what.

htide, I really feel for you. In June of last year I too lost my dearest friend. He died alone and was a drinker. He was also the most unique, funny, intelligent person I had the privilege to have as a friend. Your post has just brought it back and I am thankful - I truly feel your loss.
