:h I went to my MD yesterday and was absolutely terrified to ask him for the Topamax. My heart was beating so hard I could barley speak. I handed him The Lancet Study and managed to utter enough words for him to understand what I was asking for and come to my surprise he said; I don't have a problem with that. I nearly jumped out of my chair and kissed him. I 'm certain that would of surprised him.

Anyway I was wondering now that I have the Topamax is there anyone else that is also on Effexor? Just curious if there is any feedback on your experience with taking the two together. I'm on .375 Mg of Effexor and just started the .25 Topamax.

If anyone else is debating like I did for approximately a month to ask their doctor for Topamax, give it a whirl because I did and had great results.

i did the exact same thing as you, and my doctor had the exact same reaction and i am doing great, day 13 here, and couldnt be feeling better, wish you the best of luck.

Not sure about the efexxor and Topa. I would call the pharmacy where you got it and ask them. They are sometimes better then a Doc. on knowing that information.

Let me know what they say. I have not started Topa yet and have the same question.

That is great information Faith. I have been reading on the sight since three weeks. I thought that I would request of my doctor the topa also. Thank you for decreasing my anxieties about this.

I'm really sorry if I'm not calling you the right name. I'm really new at this. Congrats on your 13th day. Its so great to have someone say they had the same thing happen to them at the Dr's office. My husband just can't relate to whats going on like you just did. Tell me what its like on the 13th day? I'd love to hear back from you.

Hey just also let your doctor know how you feel as you take your effexor with another drug. Just like you would if you were having your dosages tweaked. I on Cymbalta. I don't do any other stuff but supplements. But with my anti deppressant I always ask and let my doc know how I'm feeling when the raise my dosage.

I went to my doctor this morning and talked to her about the Topa. Of course I had to get a tissue to get through the whole "I have a problem" speech. She was receptive but cautious and wanted to do some research on the subject before she just handed me the prescription. You should have seen the look on her face when I handed her all of the articles from the various online sources. She was amazed and amused. She is going to look them over and give me a call later this week. if you are thinking about asking your doc for Topa, do the research and take it to them. I think it shows that you are truly serious about your recovery process.

Keep you fingers crossed for me. I hope she calls back with a prescription to fill. If not, there are other doctors!
