    Back again with a plan!

Hi everyone, (slopes back in sheepishly!) I am back again and I am aiming for the 30 days, I really NEED to do this now, more so than before as I find my tolerance has really gone up and it worries me very much, last night I drank two bottles of wine and smoked 10 cigarettes (I don't normally smoke) and I wasn't even drunk, I can't actually believe it, I also can't believe this is the person I have become, my evenings are just spent on an endless task of throwing as much wine down my neck as I can then falling asleep (passing out) on the sofa and I am SICK of it!!!!

My plan so far is to go out today and buy lots of alternative drinks, some healthy snacks and a relaxation cd of some description, dig out my copy of Jason Vale and read it again and to ring my local pool and check out when the public swims are, I think taking exercise will help me to regain a healthy lifestyle which I desperately need, I have gained another half stone since my last attempt to quit and I am now just out of the healthy BMI range at 25.3 I know I am sliding down a very slippery slope and I need to quit now before it is too late for me.

    Thanks for reading

    Back again with a plan!

I am with you 100%. I have been fighting for control of wine too and the only way to control it is to eliminate it. Thirty days here we come.

I, to am just over the 25.3 BMI (about 26) and want to get in under the wire so these thighs stop rubbing together (ouch) and the belly gets flat again. Don't want to be a model but to feel comfortable in my clothes and enjoy exercising without too much jiggling.

We can go at this together. Post daily and we'll do this together, Mauri!!

      Back again with a plan!

Good morning Mauri and Tipple! :welcome: back Mauri! Sounds like you have a good plan! Let's do it!

I too need to lose weight, and I believe AL was the main thing that led to all this extra weight, but taking it away, so far, hasn't helped. Maybe I need to introduce exercise and take away cookies and cake.:H Made two batches of tollhouse cookies this weekend so far! Maybe tomorrow, since Mondays are such great days (not) to start FRESH.

        Back again with a plan!

        Hello Mauri & Tipp!

I am only 8 days AF and i lost 2 pounds this week, and thats without exercising.

But whats even better is how good i feel. Giving up AL has raised my self esteem, opened up my nights and weekends to accomplishing so much instead of waking up Sunday morning and wondering where the weekend went.

You can both do it! Dont wait another day to start.

              Welcome back Mauri!
I was wondering about you! I'm glad you're back with a plan. I know all too well the dead-end cycle of pouring poison down my throat night after night (and smoking WAY too much while doing it!). Sounds like you have a good start planned. Check your local library for relaxation CD's, that's where I get mine. Exercise sounds good too, I keep meaning to get back into that myself. Stick close to us here and let us know how you are. I have complete faith that you can kick alcohol to the curb for at least 30 days...and more!

30 days is a GREAT goal Mauri, I LOVE it.

                Might I suggest some smaller ones......1 7 14 and THEN 30

When you start hitting your goals, you'll feel successful....kind of like a snowball rolling downhill.....you get what I call "traction".

Sometimes, looking down the tracks at 30 days seems like a daunting task.....

                Wishing you much strength.

I agree about having small goals to get you to 30 days. I had 2 weeks then screwed it up this weekend. I hate Al and I just downloaded Jason Vale's book. I hope it can help. We can do this! Stay strong and I will also. Blah, stupid alcohol.

Just wondering if you have ever tried yoga! It is so wonderful for relieving stress and helping you to relax. I find it very helpful.
                        Looking forward to your posts.

Welcome back Mauri. Stick close by and we can all do this together. I wouldn't focus too much on the weight loss yet. All our bodies react differently and some people lose weight easier than others.
