How did your body feel after you quit?

I am happy to say I am now on day 10 and very proud. It hasn't been easy by any means but I feel a little better.

I have been noticing different things about my body.

    1. I have gained weight and I thought I would lose..pist me off
    2. I have been a lot more tired
    3. Mood Swings
    4. Lower back pain
    5. Pain on my lower left side

This is besides all the cravings but the good things I feel are:

    1. I wake up remembering everything
    2. I can think clearer
    3. I have been more hyper at night
    4. I am proud of myself for not drinking
    5. I am not ashamed of myself

Just a few things about my body...what has everyone else experienced when they first quit.

You're doing GREAT. It takes a bit of time. I think after three weeks I felt like my old self. I also had some pain issues that subsided after I started exercising and eating a healthy diet. The mood swings will even out. Your body is still adjusting to the new you. Hang in there !

I too didn't lose any weight ( well only a couple of pounds- probably because I snacked on other stuff instead) - however ultimately I know I can sort this out so I'm not too worried.
However within days although i hadnt lost weight I was a lot less bloated around the middle and my clothes were looser.
I had trouble sleeping for some weeks and I did experience mood swings.
However in the morning I would have so much more energy no headaches or nausea or feelings of dehydration.
Even if I didn't sleep well I still felt better in then morning than when I was drinking.
I also stopped getting stiff hands / fingers which previously I woke up with every day.
After about 40 days my skin looked a lot better ( more healthy complexion) and people commented that I looked well, however this did not happen for several weeks.

Keep going - don't quit before the miracles start happening.

How did I feel when I first quit? Like CRAP honestly. My body was reeling from years of abuse. My digestive tract was in knots and I couldn't sleep. This did NOT last long though, fear not. It may take a few weeks to actually feel "good", but don't despair, you will recover and start to feel alive again. It took at least a week for the fog to clear from my head. Give it time, and you will be amazed at the changes, just be patient. Hang in there Honey!!

Great job on the double digits. I too thought I would finally drop the 10 pounds that found a home. No such luck. I lost a few but it's going to now take work on my part. I ate a lot a sugar the first few weeks. I slept like crap but how I really felt......RELIEVED! Keep on keepin on.
