    I'm In

    I joined a gym today, ate mostly raw food,, well caved and had a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk, but better than a bottle of wine, and went for a walk along the beach.

    I would really love to give up smoking....anyway, taking the day of work tomorrow, YAY!!!!

    And as its cold here, I will drag my forgotten crotchet out, and finish my nieces blanket.

    Also, actually put moisturizer on my face twice today

      Congratulations Imaclean, its tough, but doesn't it feel good so quickly? I'm on day 2 so, we can start together.

        I would love to join you on your healthy journey. Good for you for jumping in a few days before the month even started. Need to have a clear head as I have just purchased Rosetta Stone French courses and hope to be bilingual in a year. That means listening to the CD's while bouncing on the rebounder and spending at least an hour a day concentrating on the lesson plans. This means no fuzzy head allowed. May is the month before we have to bare our bodies in order to stay cool so here's to a lot less jiggle and a lot more muscle!!

          I want to get in with this healthy group!

          I'm watching what I eat and doing a 30 DVD program called "30 Day Shred". I slacked a little over the weekend, but I am determined to do it every day this week!

          We can do this guys!

              Love the energy everyone! Count me in - have just come from the gym and feel buzzed - I find it really helps me keep AF - hope to add cycling and maybe running to the routine now the better weather is coming! There's definitely strength and motivation in numbers, so look forward to seeing you all around here during the wonderful AF and active month of May!:baaah:

                I'm in! This is day 1... again. Like Ima, I'm exhausted by this cycle of quiting and failing. I've been numbing out a lot lately, have put on weight and this morning I overslept because I stayed up late drinking way too much wine and almost made my son late for school. It's time to take care of myself so I can take care of the ones I love. So I'm going AF, check in here at least daily, back to a vegetarian diet and walking, walking, walking. I'll focus on just those for now and add more good habits as I get more stable. I'll really appreciate the ideas and support of this group.

                  Hi troops

                  Well, its a cold and clear day here. No AL last night for me.!!! Couldn't sleep, woke up feeling sort of hung over, but very glad I didn't drink. Will go and check out the gym today, and also gets lots of fruits and veg to juice. have a happy May Makeover day)

                    Hey! I'm officially starting tomorrow, May 1. My goal is to get back into walking, but as I've been sedentary for so long, it will be gradual. Went to the grocery store today and bought some healthy stuff as well as some cookies and chips. My skinny bf would not allow me to leave all high calorie foods out of the house.

                        LOL, he weighs less than I do.:upset: And, he's 7 in taller.:H

                        I just wanted to tell you guys about this drink I bought tonight that is delicious! ICE sparkling grapefruit. Yummooooooo!!!! No calories, and carbonation! I've got the lemonade to try tomorrow.

                          Hi all! What a perfect thread! I'm on day 6 (never thought I'd get this far!) but I know I need to move this body in order to keep the AL free days going and feel better! I too have a rusty, dusty gym membership that has been dormant for way too long, so I will gear up and get my flabby you know what there and make it less flabby!

                          So many folks on this site cite how regular physical activity is an incredibly useful and essential tool in maintaining the AL free days...I know it's got to be immensely helpful! Plus it will help me lose all the weight that doing nothing but drinking has led to!

                          I'm IN!!!! Here's to May!

                          And thanks to all! I love this site and all the fighters on it!:h

                              I actually can shed weight pretty quickly when I'm not drinking, I'm aiming at at least 8 kilos in the next 6 weeks...... the grapefruit sounds good!! It reacts to medication i'm on though

                              What I have been having is tonic water, with lemon, very yummy.

                              Hey, So Over IT, congrats, i'm still very early ,2 days, but feel miles better already!!!!
