There is always hope if you have the desire to quit. Do you?

What has helped you to quit before? How did you do it? Sheer willpower? Supplements? Exercise? What have you tried?

Are you saying that you are in physical pain? Where is the pain? Any symptoms?

Poor your vodka down the drain. Your body is an amazing thing and its ability to heal itself is remarkable. Don't write yourself off before you know the truth.

i quit through will power and everything i could find for about 6 months, the pain is from my throat to my bladder, feels like im on fire, and i know one drink would cure it, i dont wanna be a dramatist, just getting a reply helps, thanks a lot, I want to stay alive and yet it feels like im my own worst enemy

You know that the drink is what's causing the pain. It may make you temporarily feel better, but if you want to stop drinking the only way to get to the other side is to go through it. You can't circumnavigate the process.

You can make it easier though with supplements, reading, and a plan. And you need to stay stopped! Six months is great. Did you think you could moderate after that?

You don't actually live in Scotland do you? If you do you should be in bed!

Are you ready to quit again? Have you tried supplements in the past? Are you drinking now?

                        Help, I'm a train wreck

                        Hi Scottishman,

I agree with FlyAway, pour it out and TRY to drink lots of water and cranberry juice with lemon. I am also taking milk thistle as well, it's supposed be a supplement for the liver. Wow, 6 months is great, you must of have felt great : ) Scottishman, just like you did before and you can do now, you exercised your will power and was able stay sober for six months. That's great : )

Anywho, I hope you are feeling better and PLEASE keep us posted on how you are doing.

                        Hugs,
                        Janet

Congrats on throwing the vodka down the toilet, that's so awesome!!!! Yeah, it will be tough but at least you know what to expect and how wonderful the results will be. Please TRY to post tomorrow on how you are doing and remember you are not alone in this. This is a big forum and there are alot of people on AF Day 1....

Looking forward to hearing more from you and again "high five" on throwing that vodka down the toilet.

Mate, do you have to work over the next few days?
