    Sparkly Sober Weekend!!!

Since I'm right over the right hand side of the world (map wise:H) and amongst the first to welcome it in, I thought I'd make a start on wishing everyone a fabulous, fresh, sparkly , sober weekend!!!!
    What you up to?
For me some sleep - can't believe how tired and a bit 'zoned' I'm feeling - strange, but common from what I've read on here. Tomorrow will be my day 7 - the first day 7 for a long time, and hopefully my last time. Then some 'creative' cooking on Sunday with the family round.Must have a look at the cooking boards.
Anyways, go for it, love and peace to you all :h:h:h:h:h

      Happy Sober weekend noodle

It's a long holiday weekend here & one where people traditionally get together, BBQ & drink.
I will have family here for a BBQ, a few may bring beer for themselves but I don't worry about that anymore. I know I am so much better off without any AL on board

Congrats on your 7 AF days :yay:
      AF since 03/26/09
      NF since 05/19/09
Success comes one day at a time

        Sparkly Sober Weekend!!!

Happy sober weekend ! Today is day 7 for we as well noodle! I think we'll go see that scary movie about Chernobyl which will prob make me scream and throw popcorn lol. And Armed forces day is going on down on River Street, so that may be fun to celebrate all those who VOLUNTEER to serve our country.

I have been tired too noodle and having GI issues to beat the band. Butbthe evenings are getting slightly easier as I adjust to not walking in the door and immediately staring to chug down the wine. So last night the hubby and I immediately went back out the door for a hot sweaty 2 mile run/walk....whoo, rough.

Anyway congrats on day 7, and have a good weekend!

Ok. My mind is starting to negotiate with itself, just 2 glasses of wine, maybe only on Fridays... So I got dressed up, got the hell out of the house and we went to a movie. BTW, chernobyl diaries is not worth wasting your money on. So now we are ate to dinner ( appetizers ) because we ate a huge tub of popcorn! So then home and maybe I'll be over this.... Weekends... Ugh!

Do not negotiate! How will you feel tomorrow if you drink tonight? You will never
be upset tomorrow morning if you don't drink tonight, but the chances are great that you will be upset if you do drink.

Flyaway, you're right. And logically i know the consequences, but the mind is a tricky little bitch. So now I am going home, getting into pjs and ride this out. Hopefully this gets easier. My husband wants to say so bad that's it's okay for me to have a glass of wine, and he would love to sit out back and have a cold beer, but he's being vey understanding and supportive. But I hate that he has to be like that and I hate that I am the way I am and he's had to deal with it. But I do like waking without having drank the night before. Onward I go...teeth clenched.... Lol

CatBelle - hope your still hanging on in there x I realised that arguing with yourself - those CONSTANT yes/no/yes/no is actually VERRRYYYYY exhausting - the main reason I know I can't mod now (after 20 odd years :H).
This is very important advice - I wish someone said to me a long long time ago -

Acknowledge that this is schitzophrenic behavoir, induced by this poisonous drug we've been pouring down our necks for far too long. It is not 'normal' to argue with yourself, mentally, over something you don't want to do, deep down. Something we know will make us sick, waste our money, will not make us ANY more attractive, sexy, intelligent, slimmer ect ect..... Do we argue with ourselves to eat dog poo ???!!! NOOOOO, it's just tossed out instantly. This happens because AL is a drug, more we drink, more we want.

Sorry for the rant, i hope so much this helps, even just a little :h

Strength and positivity vibes being beamed your way my friend x:l:h:h:l

Wait! It's not normal to argue with yourself about whether to eat dog poo? ...JOKE! Heehee

You're right it's just wasted time. But it has passed thankfully, I'm in the bed tinkering on the iPad. So now it's on to day 8 my friend, and thanks to everyone for the kind, encouraging words. Night y'all.
