Do you carry extra weight on your body? If there's nothing wrong, like arthritis or something, extra weight can put a terrible burden on your knees. I am on a weight-loss regimen myself, hoping to avoid any (more) problems from being overweight.

If not that, I have no clue.

Weight loss can certainly add pressure to a deteriorating structure. A good combo of calcium hydroxyapatite, glucosamine hydrochloride, chondroitin sulfate, msm and natural anti inflammatories like curcumin, boswelia and grape seed extract taken for at least 3 months is worth investigating. If you have high blood pressure start with reduced dose and build slowly listening to your body.

You mean weight gain don't you, RC? A friend of mine's mother walks with a cane because her knees give her so much pain. I don't know if she ever had surgery (haven't seen her in years), but her doctor wanted her to have it. All because of the extra weight.

Have you tried any alternative therapies? Acupuncture is amazing for all types of pain and works to heal you from the inside out. There is no reason to live with pain simply because medical doctors can't find a cause. I am an acupuncturist (!) and have successfully treated knee, back, neck, shoulder pain etc. In many cases, there actually IS something physically wrong with the person or they have had surgery but the acupuncture works to support the entire body and all it's systems.

Recently I have been treating a lady recovering from cancer who came to me with intense lumbar pain. She couldn't hardly bend over and had very restricted range of movement. She has not taken any pain meds since her first treatment and was previously on Novacain 2x a day and paracetamol 4x day. She was also able to bend over to pick the post up off the floor the other day!

Another excellent supplement is Liquid Chlorophyll. It alkalises the body, reducing inflammation in joints and tendons so it's great for arthritic type conditions. You can get it online or in health shops.

Keep looking for an answer. Find a holistic practitioner in whatever discipline you like (I know lots of people are afraid of needles and don't want to try acupuncture) and see what they can do for you.

            Good Luck!
