Im worried because I have a big party later tonight and so much of what we do in this lovely seaside town is cocktail it and socialize. I still want to see my friends but I need to sip on something as close to white wine without the AL.. has anyone tried anything they'd recommend?:thanks:

I suggest that you try sparkling water with mixed with cranberry or some other juice. I have been relying on this fake cocktail even at home to ease the craving. Good luck tonight!

If you were a beer drinker, Clausthauler is a credible non-alcoholic brew. It never fails to amaze me how long I can nurse one bottle when I'm not chasing a buzz.

I had a tonic water with V8 splash juice and then cut up lemons and limes in the kitchen. I kept my tonic water and V8 in the fridge with permission so I felt a little special and also 'away' from the AL..the lemons and limes looked very tropical and cocktail like.

I love ginger ale with pineapple juice a a few pineapple chunks. Let the chunks make their way to the bottom an then eat them last. The chunks are all bubbly and it's pretty tasty!

I remember as a kid going out to eat with my parents and on special occasions they would let us have a Shirley Temple (7 Up, Rose Grendadine, and a cherry on top!) Remember getting that much pleasure out of something so simple? I try to think of that when I feel pulled towards the poison.

I like fruit juice with sparkling water. Lemonade is good, too. I never was much of a beer drinker, but I'll have an O'Douls or Buckler once in a while. Buckler is made by Heineken and has more of that "bite" that you'll remember!

If you like ouzo or absinthe try a few drops of anise extract in a glass of ice water. Good refreshing summer drink. The anise extract does contain alcohol (most any extract will), but the few drops needed for the optimal flavor makes the beverage about .001% abv (less than O'douls etc.). The only way to get any alcohol would be to use a ton of extract?its too expense for that and :yuk:!
