Arrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhh I can hear that sneaky little voice all the way up here tell it to bugger off.

Tell yourself you are worth much, much more than an extra glass of wine, which of course you are.

Fast forward, a bit of strife tonight or a lot of disappointment tomorrow.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

thanks Jackie, it has got louder since I ignored it but I will continue to do so, my OH is going to do bedtime so I can get a grip of myself LOL :thanks:

I am not letting myself or my DH down, he told me this morning he is so proud of me for managing to do this, I must admit I am amazed I can actually do it, I normally have no self control at all when it comes to AL and yet here I am having reduced my daily intake by three quarters

Do you know deep down we're stronger than we think we are.

Just think of all the time and effort we used to put into drinking.

I don't have any plans but my children always make it special so I know it will be. They are already plotting away. My daughter is in Australia so this will be a first without her....
I know I'll be right there with you - you have to be admired for your strength thus far Mauri - I know you are on the right road!

Aw that is lovely, I won't see my daughter till Wednesday next week when we are moving her from Middlesbrough to Morley near Leeds. On my actual bd a friend is coming round with her son for a play date with my son and in the evening I plan to hog the tv and watch back to back episodes of Ab Fab and eat crisps and dips LOL (ooh might have to get a takeaway for tea too!!)

Well my day hasn't started off very well, DS is poorly, he has a cold, cough and upset tummy so he hasn't gone to his grandparents as planned and I am not having my nice relaxing child free morning that I so look forward to I had so many things i needed to do today but now just vegging on the sofa with him under a blanket, poor little dude is not well at all I am hoping he will have a nap soon and I can get on with some stuff, I am doing henna for a local charity in a couple of weeks and I need to draw up some designs and make a portfolio for it, they are holding a ladies pamper evening and I have volunteered my services.

I am so pleased I managed to drink only my quota of wine last night and actually left the rest in the bottle in the fridge - I can't remember the last time I ever left an opened bottle!!

Oh dear just had to clean up vomit now, so glad I didn't send him to G'parents!!

Thanks for the chat on the AA thread - it's good to talk to like minds about these sort of things, I'm afraid to appear to be taking over their thread tho - cos it's lovely and peaceful to read. I agree with you about almost everything you say - just can't imagine getting that comfortable with the whole process - but maybe it'll come with time yeah? I'm going to keep going to meetings anyhow and see what happens. So is today your last drinking day?
I am keeping going too, will just see how it pans out, no I am on 300ml tonight, 200 tomorrow and 100 Friday which will be my last drink I feel really panicky about it again but also excited about the prospect of my life without AL!

300ml done, just had a lovely frappucino (caffeine free) I made myself, it tasted a whole lot better than any of the wines I have had lately it might just be my new drink!! (mind you the sugar and cream won't be good for the waistline!)

Had a few wobbly thoughts today, worrying again about my birthday night out, I feel really ashamed of myself actually, here I am being treated to a slap up dinner in one of the top 5 restaurants in Manchester and an overnight stay in a 4 star hotel and all I can think is that it will be boring without AL - how ungrateful am I??

I am trying to focus on why I need and want to quit at the moment, off to read some of the big book and listen to my hypno cd in a moment, feeling positive and strong, I CAN do this!!

Mauri, what about planning something to do the morning after your hotel stay? Ye' know, that you need to get up early for? It would just be an added bit of security and also an added little adventure - just a thought.....

Looking like we might not even be able to go now, my son has had me up most of the night with a burning temperature and now my hubby feels ill and has a sore throat, I think I am jinxed!! I was supposed to be going to an open farm with a friend and her girls today but have had to call that off so another boring day at home for me I am so tired I could cry, I hope he sleeps some today so I can have a nap!
