          I am overwhelmed by the response, and really appreciate the support. This has been a very emotional time, and reading this thread has brought more joyful tears, I can only show my gratitude by telling you I DID THIS ALL SOBER and that means more than you can imagine. Without your support, including those that told me things I didn't want to hear, I wouldn't be wrapping up day 14 AF, and it would have been a shame to not be totally present these last 24 hours.

          With all I've messed up in my life due to drinking, when the critical moments came, unexpectedly at that, I was ready, present and focussed. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL.

                What a great feeling that must have been to go through it sober and be there for your wife and your kids. Hold on to that - you've got that great memory forever now.

                  congrats! i am glad you had the chance to realize how wonderful it was to be and feel sober through this experience. wow! your post really made me happy. i know it may not always be so much to your advantage but this is proof that a sober life is so much more successful than a drunkard one!

                        Thank you all once again. You'll be happy to know that we had the big Filet and Lobster dinner at the hospital last night, and declined the champagne in favor of the sparkling cider I brought! My wife comes home tonight, the boys, finally named Zach and Teddy, should follow at week's end or maybe early next week!
