Phin, that pizza was breakfast, too! We'll deal with the ten pound issue after the alcohol issue. Let's just hope ten doesn't become fifteen in the process.

Hi Phin, c'mon, you can do this. I'm going into day 5 and yes, it sucked but not as much as the hangovers did. How long do you want to continue to feel like poop? LOL I'm optimistic today because I finaly feel like shaving my legs and I'm sure they will thank me for that lol.AF since 8/29/12 Goal 30 day-screwed up on day 9

Hey Phin, feeling like poop is (kind of) a good way to start as you can tell yourself "this is the last time I"ll be feeling THIS bad!" I felt like i had flu with panic attacks thrown in for good measure my AF Day 1 - it sort of motivated me to read and plan! You can do it for sure!
I managed my first AF weekend in like, FOREVER - 15 years at least - it was not fun and had tough moments for sure (sitting with my girlfriends and our dogs at our regular beach bar on the the first sunny Saturday in months and ordering a coffee then an orange juice while looking enviously at the others' icy-cold white wine or beer really stuck in my throat!) but it wasn't so bad as I thought it was going to be.
Just take it a day / hour / minute at a time, I kept thinking "Perhaps I'll jack this in for now, as summer is coming and all, and do this quitting thing in the winter when there's less temptation" but there is ALWAYS temptation.
I'm on AF Day 8 now, and feeling soooo much better without the hangovers every day, plus lost almost 1kg in a week :-) there are plusses for sure xxx keep strong xxx:alf:

That sounds awful!!! What is worng? Ear infection? Hope it feels better!!!!
Day 2 for me. I am still feeling a little off. I took Milk Thistle this morning and I think that may be the culprit. I am gong for dinner tonight, but will have a diet coke with my meal. I reallt don't have much desire to drink. I like that feeling.......
Off to work, hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Okay, guys.. I really need a kick in the rear.... I had 6 months AF, decided in July that I could moderate, and I just cannot seem to get started again. Every day there is some good "reason" "excuse" to drink... I read and read and read here, just about every day... how everyone else is handling the "moderation didn't work for me" problem. But they all seem to be able to get back in stride. Every day, it's the same old thing.. "today" but then around 6 pm, it's always "tomorrow." Any ideas?

I wish I could provide you with some ideas. I've been in that spot for some time now. I have been 6 months AF a few times, and always went back. I always end up in the same place where I am right now, trying to get AF all over again.

So, Phin.... what shall we do now? Do you think if we checked in with each other - every day - at that "time" that it would make a difference? I'm not sure what time zone you're in... I'm on the east coast of the USA.

Hi Phin and Caper, Phin back away from the beer, the devil lives in there. Just get through tonight without the stupid poison! Caper, you can do this. If you went 6 months before AF, you can do one night. I've been having my ups and downs but I'll be damned if I pick up a drink. I'll be up for a few hours I'm sure. write if you want.AF since 8/29/12 Goal 30 day-screwed up on day 9
