    9 days AF

Yep. Made it to day 10. What to do now? I'm happier and more productive. When I get the urge for a drink I do something creative or go running. Have calmed down on the Valerian as it was giving me headaches, I think. Lots of green tea seems to help too...

What to do now, Tim? Start living again. Get your head straight with regard to whether you believe you are 'giving up' drinking alcohol, or 'quitting' drinking poison. Eat well, healthily and plenty.

Be very very very grateful that you have a new chance at life. Come here often, post if you can.

    WELCOME BACK TO NORMAL

      Thats brilliant - well done

I am on day four - it has been about 12 years since I have been three nights in a row without drinking a whole bottle of wine. I just feel like this time something has clicked - it feels right but my goodness last night was a struggle. It took everything in me to not walk down to the local for a bottle of pinot.

I have kids and so I am used to opening that bottle as I cook dinner etc. I was drinking lime and soda on ice and quite enjoying it. I hope I can keep it up.

      Good luck

Kuya nice to see you around!

MissTipsy Well Done on making it 3.5 days, first week is the hardest physically, the cravings get very strong. It’s important to distance yourself from AL as much as possible and avoid drinking environment for the first 30days. Say you get an irrational need to drink on the train home. That gives you rational mind around 20-30 minutes to outthink the Neanderthal within. Use that time wisely. Also you said that something clicked for you this time around, I believe it’s the attitude towards AL, no longer are we stuck denying yourself a nice reward but rather thankful for the benefits AF lifestyle brings us:

        More disposable Income
        Better emotional state
        Better health....
