I have been sleeping extremely well lately with NO help at all, for the first time in my sobriety. I used to take Melatonin every night, and yes I've tried everything...I am also tapering off the Benzos...my doctor is in for a shock when I go next month...no smoking, still stober, (almost) off Ativan...Ok I deserve another cupcake! HA

I have a variety of CD's that I listen to at night. I have a couple of Guided Meditations, but I also have nature sounds (country nights, jungle, rain) and Indian Flutes (very mystical sounding, used to scare the hell out of my daughter for some reason...lol). Plus I have a few flameless candles around...it's very romantic, me and the dog really enjoy it. LOL

Lola, just got around to reading your story. I must say that the way you write, put me right there next to you. It is like reading a very engaging book. Everything you said in the last paragraphs rings true. I am finally starting to feel like I want to be me again and not someone else.

oh K9 you reminded me that I have a sleep custom CD that I ordered from the same guy that does the MWO CD's. I forgot about that. I did think it helped but put it away when I had the fan on, and then I still slept ok....but yes, that's a tool I used too. too funny about the flutes and your daughter - I could see that, though.

I used to only listen to the flutes when I was drunk...I (actually) remember struggling with the CD player and not being able to get it to play...funny how simple it is now! Go figure. I never heard more than 30 seconds of them before I passed out...now I actually enjoy them. My daughter is no longer scared of the mystical flutes...I have to admit they are kinda creepy. LOL

You should look around on eBay...they have a lot of different types of sounds.
