I'm in for another month ODAT - infinity has no beginning or end, so I prefer to not count and just keep going one day at a time, with our mutual permanent companion The Monkey, firmly attached to my back.
I know he's there; because I've listened to his persuasive arguments once too often - lying S.O.B - no such thing as moderation for a true alcoholic.
Drink lots of water. Boost your Vitamin B Complex and C intake. In 5 days or so you will be feeling much better and ready for the end run which can never be achieved without sacrifice and a strong will to succeed.
        Good luck to all

Bashley, I found that post very inspirational. We have two things in common. One; I want to count days because that's what they do here but in the bottom of my heart, I am not really counting because I know the counting would never end. I'm in for infinity too.

"Monkey on my Back" is the pet phrase I always use to describe my cravings and my self-reproach cycle. Right now my little monkey is sitting on the kitchen table beside the open bottle of red and he's winking at me. His seduction attempts will never work again.

Anyhow haven't been tempted to touch a drop so let's bring on October!

Yeah! I'm in... have a big goal to lose 20 lbs by Christmas so no drinking is definitely key for my success. Great gift to me! Sober in October!

              October Sober...

Well time for bed. It's been an ok day. I got mad at dinner and i got over that ok. No al no cigs. I have taken all my supps and am drinking green tea and have taken a otc sleep aid as I know the first week or so af sleep is hard to come by and I don't want to fall off the wagon so to speak because of that. I will take 25mg for the first 5 days then on saturday I will cut it down to 12.5mg for the next 5 days and on 10/11 I will attempt sleep with no aid. Well there's my plan. Night all, time for alittle Dexter (the book #3) and then bed by 9:15. I'm gonna get this life under control yet! Thank you everyone for your help and support.

Good morning everyone. Glad we all made it through this weekend. Got stranded at the lake house as the vehicle wouldn`t start. Boo hoo. Lovely view of the lake with the sun rising on it.

                            Day 5 for this quitter.

                            what supps does everyone recommend....

Well done Tipplerette on getting to day 5 - fantastic !! I'm just taking the Kudzu at the minute, but if tings get tough I'm going to get some L glutamine.

I was looking at some in the pharmacy over the weekend, but it was ?18 GBP and I wouldn't buy it. On my way home I got to thinking - I would have quite happily spent ?15 on a bottle of vodka, ?5 on a bottle of wine with ?8 on ciggies. My AF brain needs to have a word with my alkie brain and get it's priorities straight !!!

                                October Sober...

Hi Kuya, I went to the clinic to get tested, to see what damage I have done with my drinking. So fingers crossed I will find out next Monday. Other than that I am expecting a couple of friends to visit me later this week. One of them is a heavy drinker and we used to love to just get trashed together. So not sure what to expect from their visit. I am almost 100% sure I wont be drinking but not sure how it will affect our relationship. Have to wait and see.

                                How was the airshow?
