Drinking thoughts
Okay, so thinking Friday evening 'Gosh, who wouldn't want a nice cold glass of white wine with this weather?!!"
Everyone was on the beach, having a drink... I wasn't feeling exactly bad for myself but...
Then same thing yesterday. I went to an art opening and they were serving wine. This got me thinking. I know how it would have gone: a couple of glasses at the gallery, then home to a bottle. Husband went to movie and I stayed home so I would have definitely drank.
I would have woke this morning feeling like crap and trying to pretend I was fine. I would have had a headache and probably upset stomach (don't forget smelling bad).
Instead it went like this:
NO wine at the gallery, no wine at home. I had an okay chat with my dad (instead of drinking a bottle to settle my nerves), slept late, woke up early and had a nice walk with the doggies. I was headache free and well aware how grateful I needed to feel. What a freedom to stay away from wine.
And I started a painting today. That would never have happened.
I really am making the right choice to avoid wine entirely. I am not missing anything but negative drama.(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months soberComment
