How did it go in comparison to how you 'thought' it would go? I am always curious about this one. When was the last time you went 30 days without drinking?

Thank you Eloise and everyone else for the well-wishes. Had it not been for my binge in mid-March, my sobriety date would have been 1/10 of this year. Instead of 30 days, I would have been over 90. But it doesn't work that way. Had to reset the clock.

The things I've "learned," I've always known, I just never put them into practice. A real alcoholic can't stop on their own and I am a real alcoholic. I take my psych meds religiously and see my psychiatrist and therapist regularly, I go to meetings and I communicate regularly with my sponsor and others within AA. I live by myself and am without a wife or significant other for the first time in about 20 years. It is very easy for me to isolate, and I almost always did my drinking and abuse of prescription medications alone and in isolation. The most important thing right now is just for me to be around other sober people as much as possible, which keeps me out of my own head, a place I shouldn't be right now without adult supervision.
