Soooo happy to be AF. Amazed by some of the #'s. New Page, Elvis, Wags, Kensho & ThirdTime - Truly awesome, shaking my head in disbelief. Don't know if I could ever reach such a place.

I'm not going to let this comment pass. You can. I had a Day 1, a Day 11, a Day 31, and so on. And you know how I'm doing it? One day at a time, just like you and everyone else on Roll Call. It's a lifestyle change for sure, but once it gels, it's one that comes surprisingly quicker than you might imagine. I read somewhere that it takes 21 days to break a habit and create a new one. I don't know if that's true, as I'm sure it varies by person and habit, but I'm sure you've seen something positive happening at some level, no matter where you are on your journey -- Day 31, Day 12, Day 21 or whatever. Stop shaking your head in disbelief, embrace that positive change and never go back. I'm glad that you are soooo (four 'oh's!) happy to be AF. That's the right attitude that you need. I am soooo happy for you too! That's genuine -- I don't want to see anyone suffer. I've been through that and it's a terrible place to be. But now, I think of everything I've done and accomplished over the last 849 days and It motivates me to remain AF. Often I'll take a moment, stop what I'm doing, and reflect to myself, "I'm soooo happy to be AF! None of this would be happening if I was still drinking!"

Just realized I got off on my day count. I've been a bit disoriented as I deal with the aftermath of my accident. Today is my Day 222, not 224. I'll correct everything when I check in tomorrow with my real Day 223
