                    Very happy to be here. I learned about this forum through research. I'm currently reading Linda Burlison's books and enjoying them immensely! I was given medication in detox in September. Did well until the holidays when I relapsed. I had not been taking meds faithfully. I do now and I am going to be an advocate for continuing on medication. I believe the medications are a huge factor in maintaining my sobriety. I never knew they existed and I had been sober for 13 years before I started drinking again in 2014. It was a hellish three-year ride until I went into detox. I have 90 days and, again, I give so much credit to the meds. I am still going to AA about four times a week. I never discuss medication in AA...not even with my wonderful sponsor. I need the friendship I've found in AA. It gives me some structure. I also see a psychologist and, on occasion, a psychiatrist. I truly believe these medications are life savers, and I am simply finding it ridiculous that alcoholics and addicts are still looked upon as "less than." That's not acceptable to me. That ridiculous notion must change.
