It is with great pride that I am able to bestow upon you perhaps the biggest prize there is. It marks the first 30 days of freedom. Sure, there are many awards along the way, but perhaps this modest one is the most dear. There is nothing harder than Day 1, and you managed that and backed it up with 29 more. You have used MWO to get support, and also to offer it. Thank you so much for your wisdom and strong wings. If you have some time, we'd love to hear how you accomplished this. We are so proud of you and wish you a lifetime of sobriety!!

Aw thanks! Shucks. I wouldn't be here without you, Byrdie. You showed me the way and stuck by my side. I also gained lots of wisdom reading posts learning what works for others and why my body felt the way it did in the beginning. I think a big thing for me was letting go of my fear of losing AL. It was like losing a dear close friend. Or so I thought. Turns out AL was a sneaky bastard who wouldn't leave once invited. I now know I can have a brighter healthier life without AL. I will learn new coping methods, new social skills, new eating habits..it's fun starting over at 54!
