Thank you so much, Miss Byrdie. I really hope I am on track again. I've made it to 40+ days twice and then derailed. For some reason, 40ish days marks the time when my AL brain starts thinking I can drink again - NOT!

Hi, Rooni

I've found that learning about how the AL part of our brain works makes it easier to actively work against it. Once you're addicted, it always will be there ready to jump at the chance to make your decision, but it ALWAYS is going to make the wrong one. Maybe during the next 40 days you can spend some time learning about what is going on. This might empower you when those tough days approach. (It really pissed me off that I was being defeated by a bunch of little chemicals and electrical impulses. Surely we're more than that!!)

Stay strong and stay close. :l
